Galaxy S III mini specs and photo leak - dual-core CPU and JB - read the full textWell that was fast - the Samsung I8190 Galaxy S III mini leaked in full before tomorrow's official announcement. These specs are not official so they might be inaccurate, but they look right for a 4" Samsung Galaxy S III mini device. The screen is 4" big (which we already knew) and it's a Super...

They avoid obsolescence buy giving the perception that every model is new and relevant. If they had named this in the series that it really belongs then the advance would appear to be superseded. Instead they can make sales on the back of the S3 and people who wanted a smaller S3 will choose this phone.

Is the naming accurate? No
Is the naming helpful to the consumer? No
Do Samsung care about deceiving customers? they don't care
Have Samsung always done this ridiculous and deceptive naming? Yes

By seeing the specs it's better to call it as the mini version of S2 not S3.It's specs are similar to galaxy s advance(s2 lite) except some improved ram(by 256 mb) and bluetooth 4.0

Hope and wish these specs are wrong, coz this is nothing short of ridiculous. They just cannot be stupid enough to make such specs in a S-series phone when the calendar is so near 2013, i dont believe it.

specs is pointing for a midrange phone but it is over priced especially that the s advance have the same specs with lower price

Why should it?
Substantiate your argument. It's illogical and absurd.

Pretty poor screen resolution. They could do better!

Really disappointing specs. Compared to the Galaxy S only the RAM has gone up. I was hoping for a higher res screen, at least 1.5 GHz CPU and bigger battery.

For a price like this and with such spec, I prefer buying Galaxy S Advance, which is 9 months old and 1/3 cheaper

Still with the problem of a really low overall subpixel count.

Why don't Samsung release a normal backlit screen with a higher pixel (subpixel) count. oh that's right, Samsung are a one trick pony.

Really bored with Samsung's ability to only produce great large phones.

S3 mini, eh

A device with a name like that should sport

the 540 x 960 4.3" Super AMOLED (like One S and RAZR M)
Dual core Krait(like One S and RAZR M), or a 1GHz Quad Exynos

I say make one just like the One S and RAZR M.

That would fit the S3 mini tag perfectly, it would just about justify the price and well, Samsung doesn't have a ICS/JB preloaded phone in that segment.

Lower Specs in every respect to S3 and even S2,but costs higher than even S2. And for what,so that you have a mobile called "S3 mini". And Jelly Bean...? Seriously Samsung...After Galaxy S2, every Samsung flagship announcement seems underwhelming and disappointing.

Either Samsung is foolish to think that majority of customers are fools or Samsung is right...!

Let the market decide...who is who...!

What I found more interesting than anything is that the Galaxy SIII "MINI" has the same screen size as the "BIG" iphone 5 lmao
That tells me two things
1. The iPhone 5 is still really small compared to high end droids lol
2. Samsung sees that there is still a big market for that screen size, therefore they kinda makes Apple look sensible for choosing that screen size and that they are taking a more direct approach at the iphone 5 since that will be this phones major competitor and screen size it what a lot of Apple fanboys are still saying is too big on the S3

Does sound a lot like a slightly enhanced version of Galaxy Ace 2 or a slightly modified version of Galaxy S Advance (4" AMOLED, dual core 1GHz, 5MP Camera)

4" Amoled screen, 1ghz duo core, 1 GB ram, 5mp camera, isn't that S Advance ? So Samsung repack S Advance & sell as S3 mini LOL,..
