There are also many types of phones in the Android and WP 8 camp. With iOS you have the iPhone 5 or the iPhone 4S, most other models are rather outdated, overpriced and missing many features.

WP8 has some flagships and some budget phones coming at the end of this month. Android has a whole lot of high end devices, middle rangers and budget phones, so try what may best fit your needs. If you buy anything on contract, buy a high end device or an excellent mid ranger. It's not worth to "save $100" if you'll pay ~$1500 over the next 2 years.

Finally, you could end up switching to the new iPhone, but I'd strongly recommend to consider other options first. If they don't work or are too complicated for you, and you've got spare money to spend on the most overpriced phone yet, go ahead.

I was a former N8/Belle user and currently an iPhone 5 user. I'm glad I made the switch. Nokia and Belle are awful compared to the iPhone. I pity those who are still stuck with this dead OS. You guys are missing so much. Make the switch now to the iPhone.

I believe it doesn't take 3 minutes[Locked Screen 2:05, Unlocked home screen 2:08] to swipe unlock the screen.

I updated my Nokia 603 just now, below are my personal experience.
Like
1. New Swipe to unlock feature is really very nice.
2. New Music player
3. Menu effects are very good
4. Scrolling in gallery is very fast now
5. We can double zoom the image now
6. New Nokia Music app really very fast.
7. New widget (New mail arrivals is very good looking)
Don’t like:
1. Left right key in key board is no more available
2. Image arrangement in gallery is reveres now (new image comes in end)
3. Battery drains very fast

Glad Nokia's still working on Belle, even if they don't like it that much.
