What I resent the most is the camera downgrade, from 8 to 5 Mpx, and the feeble 1500 battery. The rest I could live with as I'm looking at phones with similar and even lesser specs.

Almost bought Xperia Arc S, but stumbled upon negative reviews about WiFi connectivity and cracks developing after only a few months of (careful) usage. SIII mini would be a good alternative, save for the above shortcomings. Shame, really, that they dumbed the phone down so much. :( There are plenty of people willing to pay a tad more to get a phone that'll be current longer (as far as tech specs go).

I was even considering getting the original SIII, despite the hefty price, but the device is just too darn big. Got all happy about SIII mini, but then I read the specs. :(

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2012-10-13 00:34 from YPb1 - click to readI'm bashing Samsung as they are conning customers!!!! I like good products from every brand, inc Samsung. The Galaxy S3 itself is amazing. But to bring out a phone that is nothing like its original is deceiving. If Apple make a mistake the whole anti Apple brigade start to make pages of remarks and bash the brand. At least I've got a valid reason here! And the reason why I'm bashing is again the ridiculous price tag for a phone that is mid range and nothing like the main!

The only smartphone around is iPhone 5.

might be smaller but its cpu is only dual 1GHZ and normal s3 is Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9, so SLOWER! i wouldnt bother then

> In reply to MarkusLeto @ 2012-10-12 21:15 from 7X9e - click to readno this is not embarrassing ; it is easier to stow a mini away than a 4.3 inch or 5 inch smartphoane.
if I should ever like a big screen (bigger than this mini ) I should choose a tablet...

> In reply to MarkusLeto @ 2012-10-12 21:15 from 7X9e - click to readThat's a desperate move by Sony. Their flagship, which is Xperia S is dual core and Xperia P has same chip and most of specs are same.

You do that when company can't sell their flagship and very bad for profit.

And unfortunately SGS2 blows every current Xperia lineup away. Sad, but true story.

> In reply to yeip @ 2012-10-12 16:50 from N9xA - click to readIt's just a scam by Samsung eh mate. They take the features of a Galaxy S +, slap on a sexier body and a big price tag! I mean £200 n I'd have said that's a reasonable price for a mid range phone. But £300? There are better phones you can get for this price! Samsung are sneaky but their clever advertising works, people who are not clued up on smartphones will buy this thinking its just a smaller Galaxy S3.

Shame on Scamsung!

But I definitely agree with you. 300 pounds for this has to be a bad joke.
