Nokia outs Q3 2012 results, reports reduced operating loss - read the full textNokia's financial results for Q3 2012 are out and things are still looking grim for the Finns, which have reported an operating loss of $754 million. If you recall, for each of the last three quarters Nokia had to report north of a $1 billion loss. That's why the company had to undertake...

Nokia N, X, and E Series are already famous and win many fans (brand images and leverage for Nokia).

It's only to Nokia's benefit to continue producing N10, N11, N12, X8, X9, X10, E8, E9, or E10, with a revived Nokia Carla, Donna, and MeeGo. Nokia's home grown OSes are among the best, very capable and user friendly. Symbian and MeeGo only need improvements.

In fact Symbian phones (despite being produced in a limited numbers, with a little advertisements, and not given big processors and RAM) are still outselling the Nokia's WP.

Nokia should increase the specs as Symbian and MeeGo are great and smooth on bigger processor and RAM, like in N9 and 808. Nokia Store should have more apps.

Lumia 920 has a great hardware. With this kind of hardware Nokia can put all kinds of OSes they want, just name it. Yes Nokia is capable.

What Nokia needs is to enable themselves, and determine a sucessfull come back for themselves. And for that Nokia has to change or move to a better strategy and options. Why not Nokia.

> In reply to Alex @ 2012-10-20 10:10 from uvhI - click to readSamsung does innovate, but sadly they are not good at advertising it.

Samsung patents technologies more than any other companies except IBM and they have been on the list of top 10 United States patent recipient. Apple? Nokia? Not even on the list.

It's interesting that everyone talks about material on Galaxy series, yet they don't know Lumia series are using same plastic.

Your bitterness over Samsung is irrational though. It's a free market and Nokia just failed to compete with other manufacturers, because of bad management and poor workmanship.

Alas, but it wouldn't convince you, so I will leave you butthurt.

As both of ios and wp are controlled by centralised code makers, one can expect a certain regulations on the mandatory h/w.

> In reply to blueglue @ 2012-10-21 17:47 from wd8C - click to readYou seem to have misunderstood my question. I mean anyone knows two cores is better than one. If you say it you haven't made a discovery, for sure. The problem is:
If your salary increases twice and the prices increase 4 times, is that innovation?
If cpu becomes 1.5 quad-core and ram 2gb and the OS becomes more complex so it needs 1.5 octal-core and 4 gb of ram, is that innovation?
If yes, then pardon me please.

nokia shold design graphical user interface and stunning slim look for their devices . theu need an exclusive software and nvidia cpu to provide gammers. nokia should
1 use nvidia tegra 3
2 develope a nokia os
3 design a slim and powerful devices
4 creat a social network for users
5 provide more apps and hd games (gameloft)
6 use the aluminuim in their designs
7 more curvy and sharp edge design

Yes, It certainly need some intelligence to put the extra cores to use.

Hi all, Nokia can't vanish like others did. I have used and still use Nokia phones untill this day, Nokia is simply still the best (with al do respect to all other brands). I'll keep my faith in that brand untill the bitter end, which I hope never comes :-D.

'improving' things to make them better can also mean innovation and that's what samsung did... you said galaxy beam is useless... really? a phone with a projector has no use because you or myself dont need it?

I think they will do ok. Shares on the rise already. Q3 wasn't as bad as they thought. Preorders for 920 sold out last week in Italy. France seems to love the device also. . Expanseys selling well in UK. . Goodluck Nokia and Microsoft.
