Nokia still makes the best hardware. Signal reception, call quality, build quality, camera (PureView), screen (PureMotion HD+ and ClearBlack), and audio recording (Rich Audio) are at least a step above other OEMs. iPhones don't have good signal reception and call quality. Samsung has good screen and headphone sound quality. They are only ok at signal reception and call quality, and build quality is not much to brag about. HTC has decent phones but nothing stands out. LG = Low Grade. This is from my experience with Android, iOS and WP.
The Nokia's problem is that, it's in a very unfavorable situation where if they still insist on WP8 they will keep on losing money.
For Windows, Nokia is just a vendor
For Nokia, Windows is their main OS supplier (which, as data speaks by itself, still not performing well).
Nokia has to open up to Android. It's they only solution left.
nokia pls come with android
Now according to nokia they should adapt plan B
switch to android os and introduce devices like n9 or else shut down company in future
Time to wake up Nokia, the only way to keep alive is android. Stop fighting with your window devices, oh I'm the biggest phone company I won't use what every other company using. I can change the world. In your dream Nokia!
nokia wp just need bluetoth share, usb debug (without zune) n micro sd slot.. please listen your consumen, i'll buy u'r lumia series again..
but now I prefer for android..
i remember my first phone was a Nokia, my first smartphone was a Nokia too, if only Nokia made android phones, i know there is a lot of competition out there but still they could be making a few android phones and keep doing windows phones also.
go wp fans and ios phans...to where your heart lives..but im stuck to android..and i will join u when any of these os is better than android,i will not become a stubborn and die hard fans of whatever os unlike you..and i will not flinch an inch to change to another os when it becomes the best..

Did I mention any OS and company compared to Nokia and MS OS?
I did not mention any of them and you automatically thought I am in favor of Android..?
My perspective is very objective that I mentioned below and I think you are kind of biased on Nokia and its OS.
Well I agree with your opinion that sometimes mass public opinion could be wrong..
But it's hard to see that on this matter based on fact that Nokia has been struggling for few years and I don't think Nokia is just pure victim here on this very competitive smartphone market
All company deserve what they have done

Absolutely got no doubts in the future success of WP. I just dislike the difficult situation Nokia is. And wouldn't like it be acquired by Microsoft, Nokia's far more worthy than that.
- Nokia should make a dual boot smartphone and let the customers pick their own secondary OS of choice.
- Nokia should not ditch Symbian.
- Nokia should fire Elop.
AnonD-73681, 19 Oct 2012Even Stephen Elop wouldn't explain better. But, despite of all, couldn't you Nokia guys just, ... moreStephen Elop has explained it far too many times but people hear what they want to hear. As for the topped up spec sheet, you have got Android. You like specs? There is whole lot of bunch coming up for you like LG optimus G, HTC Butterfly & Oppo Find 5. What would be the difference if Nokia came up with the same huge spec sheet with a different skin of Android?
WP is not about filling up spec sheet, it addresses to a different type of consumers. It's a step towards an ecosystem where a whole bunch of devices are connected, synced & work in tandem with each other. You are right, lots of people buy their phones on the basis of specs but lots of people DON'T. They need simplicity and variety of innovations which Nokia & WP is offering. Nokia puts a bulky 14% of its revenues towards Research & Development. Oversampling technology, Rich recording, Optical image stabilization, motion blur free screen, clear black displays etc don't pop up without any cost.
If you can't respect what needs to be respected then you always have other options. And you can't force any person or company to do what every other is doing. Specs might be a success story today, who knows situation might be different tomorrow. May be WP8 would itself become a selling point of a smartphone?
that's what u get for sticking with windows phone.. go android before it's too late..

The innovative features it actually has and the highbfigures that it doesn't. Even for a much higher price. And they can launch midranges too 'for those who can't afford'. And guess what happens; all attempt to go for the flagship.

How is it that you suggest people are going to ignore a better screen, better touch capabilities, much better camera with OIS, better sound recording (Rich Recording) and better charging mechanisms, and focus on CPU, RAM and GPU (which are again, not much short of cutting edge)?
What you don't take into account is the price. They should have gone either with better traditional hardware, or better innovative hardware while keeping the price competitive. They chose innovation.
6.3m smartphones = 2.9m Lumia phones + 3.4m Symbian phones.
I think the messages are clear.
people still prefer Symbian over WP.
WP + Elop is a failure.

That conclusion is completely against common sense. Then again, common sense is not always right. So I am awaiting any evidence you have for the conclusion we reach from your statements.

But, despite of all, couldn't you Nokia guys just, simply, easily, only, offer higher figures of specs? Like quad core 2.5gh? Like 3gb of ram? Like Adreno 325 gpu? 128 gb storage? Bt 4.1? Don't tell me WP doesn't need those. Who cares about what they mean. You know how many people buy a phone only based on numbers? Yes, WP haters may buy a Wphone because of numbers and you fail to get it.
please fire elop, and hire a proper CEO, maybe kidnap someone from samsung or motorola
