Microsoft hasn't appreciate those customers like us that willing to use a mobile OS that isn't popular in the first place because we believe that Microsoft has created an innovation but they have forgotten us. Adieu WP...

Im an 11 month or so, lumia 800 user. I can understand getting the win 8 out of the way, and righly so, but, not mentioning the 7.8 update even a day later for existing windows phone customers is poor and arrogant. We after all put our money where our mouth is, we have bought and are on contracts! We helped get windows phone off the ground, now we are just numbers (all be it low numbers!) that does nt seem to matter any more and which are very obviously not invited to the party! Microsoft dont seem to want their original customers when their contracts expire next year. It seems those numbers will never get up there. Goodbye to windows phone. Peter (Liverpool)

Windows phones are more suited to business users imo. Mine is rock-solid, reliable and dependable, but they're simply no fun to use. I don't see the 7.8 update changing that situation - judging from what I've seen.

to be honest, I doublt that Windows Phone 8 would not run on the older devices. I would agree that nfc and some other stuff would not work but we talk here about drivers which have to be disabled. Actually I am quite sure that some of the low end WP8 that would appear in the short future will have no extra hardware compared to a current WP7.5 phone, and they will work with WP8. So in my opinion Microsoft move is a pure marketing move and if they dont make older phones run WP8, there will be custom roms that do exactly that.

The Iphone hardware has changed. The IOS 6 on the IP 3GS is an reduced version ! Som functionality is left out becaused by lack of some harware !
Microsoft made a choise by directly telling there customers with WP 7.5 units that there is missing some new hardware in the old phones and therefore they wont be able to get the full WP 8 experience.
Microsoft called it WP 7.8 instead to make that clear.
Apple took another choise. Gave every IP 3 GS and up the new IOS 6. BUT its not the same IOS in the Iphone 3GS/4 and the 4S/5 !
Its all at thoise in religion, do you beleve more in Apple or in Microsoft.
You choose the OS that makes you happy. Then there is no reason to make other sad about there choises... Unless you are payed by apple or microsoft to get more customers over on your side.
May everybody have a greate day, and there mobile OS bee with them ;o)
