And some people who would buy this would be using it primarily as a backup phone. Nokia caters to all segments of the market, not only the top and middle-end.

And what about that infamous issue with the previous low-end Nokia phones: the voice leak??? For the people who doesn't remember, on previous phones, like 1116 for instance, when on a call everybody in the room where you are listens to your call/partner because the sound comes from the speaker behind the device. I guess we'll have to wait for the release of this 109 to know...

Not exactly "old school" if social networking is available directly from the homepage....would love a BASIC phone that's thin and durable. Love the B2710 but it's a little chunky at times.

Why are phones like this still being released?? If I were Nokia, I wouldn't be proud of this and make any kind of announcement.

well i think this will fit in greatly, because some people don't want to keep big phones in their pockets. only need a phone to make a call or a text. this battery backup will just do fine.
