How they going to survive when their smartphones' price are going higher and higher. When consumers compare against other brands, the specs is almost same but HTC smartphones are just too overpriced.

I'm not surprised as I think HTC have lost their Mojo. Reading the 8X review, HTC had an opportunity to make their mark and lead from the front but instead released a product two steps behind it's competitors. Just look at the main disadvantages in the review. Disappointing as I was willing to give Microsoft OS ago but unfortunately their is not a lot of Phone 8 products to choose from so my next phone will likely be another Android. And it will not be an HTC as I no longer trust them given the way they turned their back on loyal Desire HD users.

Sadly, HTC has lost it, and Samsung has taken it's place with the Galaxy S3.

their business strategy is failing... you can't survive in the market by selling premium handset alone.. htc phones are so expensive and overprice. with the same spec phone made by samsung, sony, huawei, zte and other company are cheaper. build material and quality is not everything, but value for money is. start selling phone in reasonable price and all price range

Sony will eventually kick samsung's ass in the android arena. As for HTC, I think they'll shift their strategy towards Windows Phone, but still release maybe 1 flagship android device each year (running a very stock version imo).

Unfortunately, in my case it doesn't annoy me to see sales going down so enormously. I told myself that I will support HTC products till eternity because of its uniqueness in terms of specs and solid case/body. Let's be aboveboard HTC it does struggle to satiate its customers mainly in two things, 1, Battery & 2, Unavailability in times of hiccups in the phone. And what else again? This Company needs our support. If Barcelona can be beaten 5 times in a raw will you forfeit your membership? Nobody buys HTC in South Africa like me.. Rise HTC Rise

Yes Htc phones do look like rock. The design team are like dead man walking, has been wasted good metal unibody with bad designs for unbelievable reason.
The other reason was,
Some people that think htc rock are those people got shot to dead long ago in XDA-developers.com and never having a chance leaving that crab place. This group of people has nothing better to do but just daily flashing lots of so-called master fast rom, leak rom, stupid rom and so on. To most us who been there before, most likely those 3rd grade rom are crab. They might fixed or patched some problems that Htc didn't manage to fix on time. But then they created just as many problems that Htc original official rom didn't included. In some case they got it even worst.
Of course there are many real rom master in XDA-developers.com. But they just couldn't fix all the problems that original created by Htc phones hardwares, circuit design and software development.
So yes, Htc rock, at bottom line.

What's wrong with this company? It keeps falling and falling....
If they make a proper high-end smartphone WITH micro sd card slot 16~32GB internal storage and 2GB of RAM they'd easily win!

HTC you should think twice and see your competitors... Make a phone up to date with all possible features... And specially your batteries... If you will not listen to your customers one day you will be "HTC was..".. We all know you can make good phones but you are trying to twist the arm of your customers... Put all options and features with best possible battery life in just two phones and you will be back in game.. I always check your phones but always something and something is missing from regular... Why Why what you think we are fools... What does smart means? When you make smart phones for smart people what would you expect? We are more smart than your smart phone.. We choose phone with open eyes not blindly and not just for your ibeat earphones...

i blame there sense ui redesign for android 4 which is ugly and though i love my sensation xe n have had no problems the update to android 4 has taken my phone from cool to ugly that new utility bar has ruined htc and is the only reason that will stop me buyin htc again...
Come on htc wake up get rid of ur ugly sense ui n give us bak the older cool style sense ui... and ur sales would pick up cause ur phones are fine just ur ugly sense letting em down and us the buyers down

Have Desire X for couple of weeks now.
Fully satisfied with it so far - optimal size, has everything I need, design and build quality excel most of the competition, and the price is roughly 1/3 of iPhone 5's.
