Correct me if I'm wrong... I notice some ppl saying Nokia not making money on the lumia 920 cause they are selling it so low... But to my understanding isn't AT&T buying the phones from Nokia close to the retail price? Because no matter by how much AT&T is subsidising the phone they looking to make a profit on the duration on the contract.. Voice, data, etc. that is the business model for companies like these. Btw great phone Nokia!!!

Not being pessimistic but this is actually a bad news. Nokia will be tempted to increase supplies to US where there is huge demand and will ignore other markets such as India and other Asian countries. They don't sell in Asia and India subsidised so there would be actual dollars revenue loss unlike US where revenue is linked with careers earnings and get money over the contract period. Nokia got carried away with such early demand for N900 and delayed it to Asia and we know that they ended selling half a million or so state side. By the time N900 was launched in Asia, it was too late as WP8 already got announced and no one picked it. Huge loss of revenue potential. I just hope Nokia doesn't commit same mistake as with N900.

if you really wanna know the reason why, its because of the definition of smartphone defines as a phone with the capability of running more than one thing at a time. of course, this all changed when Apple came out with its iPhone at 2007 where its called a smart phone but everyone would change all of the world's standards just because apple said so.

> In reply to billbull @ 2012-11-17 16:11 from sS{b - click to readAsha does not use symbian. Asha uses a java based firmware. Symbian is a smartphone operating system. It can also be called that is THE SMARTPHONE OPERATING SYSTEM, cause was the first and is the smartest. Asha has some smartphone capabilities and can be called and s40 smartphone, cause it's capable of the most important thing a smartphone is. WLAN, email, office, etc. But it is still just a future phone, and cannot be compared to Symbian. But, for allot of people is more then enough.

Man I'm getting tired of you guys bitching over which OS is the best. Just face it, they all lag, crash and have problems from time to time. The differences are minor. You can do pretty much everything important with any phone regardless of its OS. They are all awesome in their own right. It's just a matter of personal preference whether you like tiles or widgets, customization or ease of use, personality or conformity, design or performance, cutting edge specs or optimized performance. No phone can cater to everyones taste since we are all unique so be happy we have the choice between so many OSes. Peace to you all, my tech-loving brothers and sisters!

There's always something better on the horizon. More ram? 1080p? Better camera? If you're always waiting til the next quarter you're going to always be waiting.

> In reply to TheAgent @ 2012-11-17 08:37 from jBF6 - click to readCome on guys... find me a Nexus phone that lags till date. Apart from that I have a friend using a Lumia 810 and his phone keeps showing a blank screen before loading any app or even when swiping across (for those who feel there isnt any lag. There are android phones that are laggy (like HTC). but it is their OEM's customization in a bid to add more features to the phone that causes it. But what excuse does the lumia 810 have that is using WP (7.5 maybe), which cannot be customized.

In the end just want to say that it useless to convince others which phone is better as everyone likes a phone for a reason that suits their personality and how they want to use their phone. I like android for me being able to add more functionality and customize it as I want. Windows phone don't allow me to do so and iPhone's need to be jailbroken to do so. But with Apple the roblem is we have to wait for a long time after a software update is released to be able to jailbreak into it. Some others on the other hand will like Windows phone or iPhone for their simple to use interface (although some may still find iPhone's interface a bit confusing

WP8 supports Upto 64 cores by the way.

I am to get a 920 as soon it iambic launched here. I'm sure it will be whole lot more stable compared to my SGS3.

> In reply to donaldleonar @ 2012-11-17 11:33 from t7E0 - click to readEveryone knows 4.1 and 4.2 still have lag.

But You never mentioned 4.3 which is now the professional fix for lag now.

Most the lag anyway seen in 4.1 and 4.2 is poor phone skills. Those people make it look bad by not using light skins or doing factory resets after it slows.

HOX+ is quad core and with a light skin Rooted with custom ROM will show the truth. Android is the best.

WP was only single and now dual core, so 2009 LOL.
