> In reply to Agrob @ 2012-11-16 23:38 from cN9w - click to readyeah you are right mostly...in the beginning. A good CEO detects how his HW and software would stand against future competition. I still dont agree with that WP is a failure. It is just the beginning. Microsoft is now trying to start looking aggressive rather than half hearted attempts from the past. I would still stand by the argument that the deadly combo of pure view and symbian still did not do well. Meego was and is still good...and with the old CEO, he would have still gone for it. But on the other hand the aggressive brigade(samsung, htc .etc ) defined the future smartphone business models... OS from third party or real software giant Google and HW designed by self. Apple is successful of it releases 1 phone every 2 years...sufficient time for HW and software. Nokia cannot afford this. But still they stick with their basic S40 series for the feature phones...which is lesser work. So this is the winning strategy, if you want to flood the markets with your smart phones...HW should be yours and OS must be from the masters of the game..either google or microsoft... this would work until something changes once again this scenario !

Good Nokia, its good to see you arent going to sink. Still i feel a bit of bitterness how you left out the faithfully symbian user base, well i moved on and now i really cant get enough of my android device. I hope in the future to see a Android PureView phone but in the meantime it will be just wishfull thinking.

That's good that they still have some nice phones, but they are not Apple. They can't survive with one model per year....

> In reply to Elopís @ 2012-11-16 22:53 from cN9w - click to readI think u were the first one fired by Elop from Nokia for trolling without use!!! ur idea is great to have the entire workforce as additional cost without more or even equal revenue! Oh yeah... by the way you are the CEO of google or Microsoft, earning billions to ridicule or find rationale behind business decisions for survival and future growth!!! Please try to give ur lectures at Harvard!

It all adds up. unlike all the oem's, Nokia dosen't just work on hardware.. they create thier own software. Thats the most respectable kind of company.. that works from head-to-toe! this is why apple is so respected too.

Oh that's so great. But wait... why Nokia firing employees every year?

June 14, 2012. Nokia Firing 10000 Employees + Nokia plans to fire its additional 10,000 workers by the end of 2013

Since taking over in 2010 Elop has cut nearly 40,000 jobs from the company

Rule one in marketing: create a shortage of products to make people believe it sells well, by manufacturing a only a small quantity. And Nokia is nearly given the phones for free, no wonder stocks are scarce

If you passed grade 1, you'll see that nokia sold the second most phones as of Q3 2012... dont forget, nokia has symbian S^3, Sumbian s40, windows, meego, maemo, AND nonsmart phones.

It all adds up. unlike all the oem's, Nokia dosen't just work on hardware.. they create thier own software. Thats the most respectable kind of company.. that works from head-to-toe! this is why apple is so respected too.
