> In reply to Cod3rror @ 2012-11-21 16:56 from ppj7 - click to readYou are correct there are several places that are incorrect but I am not sure since when it has been like that at least for 4-5 years on both Nokia as well as Google maps. I had reported/requested 3 updates at http://support.google.com/eart...nswer=181056 and only 1 has been updated as of now. Neither Google nor Nokia is perfect but it's nice to know that they are putting effort in the right direction. Competition is great for consumers. Competition gives options/choice for consumers. I have used both Google maps on SGN2 and Nokia maps on N8 at different places at different times and circumstances and I like both and wouldn't want to waste time trying to bash one is better than the other. There are some "next big thing since the previous big thing" companies that can learn a lot from this.

ahh.. i wish there was a Nokia Maps version for Android and if even paid i would be more than happy to have it. Nokia excelled in some areas and those are deeply missed when i switched platforms a while ago... :(

> In reply to Thephonegeek @ 2012-11-21 17:47 from uNVL - click to readMaps are needed when traveling abroad, why would I use them in my home country? I know well my country, i can't get lost here, in the worst case i may ask someone around, although there are road signs everywhere.

Whatever. No matter how good Nokia maps is, it doesn't matter to me. Nokia Maps isn't available in my country where Google maps is. Google maps will soon have streetview of some of our cities. That's why I use Google maps in my nokia mobile.

here in egypt, google maps sucks hard with lots of inaccuracies and almost no POI's at all.not to mention many outdated maps areas
while nokia maps has every single detail to the finest , updated frequently and POIs r very accurate and no missing POI's.POI's include phone numbers and websites(i mentioned that google maps POI"s r quite scarce).they even include street kiosks, nokia maps also has 3d landmarks, satellite imagery is updated unlike google maps
no wonder nokia maps trumps google maps!!

Google it`s using Navteq for Google Maps, so it`s not better than Nokia.
And, who the hell says Nokia it`s out of money?

Nokia maps or HERE is already in the first place. They are just planning to make 10 empty places behind them and put google on the 12th.

There is a place here in Dublin, which is incorrect and hasn't been updated in more than 10 years. It's still outdated and incorrect.
The only redeeming feature of Nokia Maps is that they are offline, you can download countries or cities and use them offline. Other than that Google Maps totally blows away Nokia Maps.
