Duds are not reliable and they can drop the calls, transferring wrong data at high speed. Thake care and use careless duds only when playing with angry birds.
steve, 23 Nov 2012I wonder if this also enables DC-HSPA functionality...DC-HSDPA is already enabled.. without the hack.
i checked out some smartphones, they had LTE on the list O_O
galaxy nexus i9250 global vir
galaxy s3 i9300 global vir
htc one x global vir
htc sensation for t-mobile (maybe the global vir have LTE too)
i'd love to see some1 trying other phones at any LTE connection just to see if it works like the nexus 4
actually this is a good thing at android. dialing *#*#4636#*#* actually it is maybe working with any android phone. idk if it needs to be ics 4.0+ though i remember trying some ROMs which doesnt have it working at HTC rezound
oh yeah i dont mean that all of android phones have a LTE, but yeah alot of new 1s do have it according to what i've checked out.
thats a good idea. make an lte enabled phone. and disable the function. should of let samsung make it. like old nexus. would of been smart.
JiNkeEz, 23 Nov 2012Not so surprising news. Its because of the S4 Pro. Selected processors of S4 pro have LTE mode... moreAPQ8064 is the s4 chip in side this phone. this chip has no cell modem so the phone must be using another type of cell modem. It seems the only phone using the MSM8960T s4 chip is the nokia 920t
not available in Portugal I think. And those LTE bands aren't compatible with Portuguese bands as well
jason, 23 Nov 2012I am on Rogers. Can someone show/tell me how to set it up? firstname.lastname@example.orgTo enable LTE, you need to go into a debug menu (by typing *#*#4636#*#* into the dialer) and change the setting from WCDMA preferred to one of the LTE-enabled options. It seems that this is all you need to do on TELUS, while on Rogers you need to create a custom APN to get the LTE working.
I had a hunch about this. After all Nexus line is geared towards the dev community. YAAAY
Was going to get the Note 2 but with this phone being quarter of the price i will buy it.
Well I'll be damned. This was the ONLY thing keeping me from buying a Nexus 4. Will be if people can successfully enable it in the US. Once they can...I'm going to be buying this bad boy.
Justiin, 23 Nov 2012I wonder if LTE will work on Australian networks, with the Nexus 4.The Nexus 4 is supposed to have a 7 band LTE chip in it, so it is likely to have our 1800MHz band 3 LTE in it. If it turns out it does, I will buy the Nexus 4 as soon as it's back in stock.
hell yes...will buy it even b4 this lte capability was discovered. big yes for me on the n4...awesome device with jb 4.2 and awesome sweet price.
Really nice. And even better if that's an essential condition of s4 pro and not an error, meaning that next batch of devices will not be deprived of LTE.
Now, if only we could actually BUY the phone.........
