I have lg4xhd and ics. LG has no plans to update this great phone. I'm going to sell it and get me a nexus or s3. Never buy a phone again unless examining how the manufacturer has updated.

Actually, all windows phone 7 will get the update. It's Microsoft that's controlling the major updates.

> In reply to I HATE APPLE @ 2012-11-24 11:20 from 3Wkv - click to readC'mon buddy! WP7 is 2 years old!! What could you expect?? Nokia's situation was different, they adopted WP7 when it was on the middle of its lifecycle (WP7.5). WP7 devices can't be updated to WP8 due to HW limitations, WP7.8 will bring more goodies, not just the revamped home.screen. BT file transfers will be available too.

Now tell me: which Android devices have been able to receive updates when they are 2 years old??? Only the Nexus S comes to my mind (and it won't get the 4.2 update). You should just feel luc,ky WP7 devices are still getting updates. But it seems that's never enough for some people.
BTW: there is no 5 month old WP7.5 Lumia device. The newest was Lumia 610 and that was released early this year. If you got a WP7.5 device just 5 months before WP8 release it was either your fault or your carrier's fault (they may have delayed their WP7.5 releases)

> In reply to I HATE APPLE @ 2012-11-24 11:20 from 3Wkv - click to readAll WP7 will get WP7.8 or even WP7.9. Windows Phone 8 is a kernel from Window CE kernel to Windows NT kernel to match up with its Windows 8 brother. The core of WP8 is now the same as Windows 8. What it means is developers can now port apps/games between the two easier. Windows CE kernel only supports single core. Windows NT kernel in WP8 supports up to 64 cores. So they won't change the kernel for a while. Microsoft also guaranteed at least 18 software updates for WP8 phones.

Lets Face it WP7 is DEAD long may it rest in our hearts. And may Microsoft ROTT in HELL for all eternity for taking us up to 7.5 and killing us off instead of an update to WP8 with lame excuses. Just so they could sell us a new phone and make even more money out of us. and offered us WP7.8. We the MUG's of the year left with our new 7.5 Nokia's and others that are less than 5 months old when the WP8 announcement came. And prize for all thouse (who cant buy a new phone now) Left is WP7.8 apart from the home screen it's left up tp you phones manufacture to add all the goodies that Wp7.8 gets and for awhile they'll be exclusive to your phone except for some 1st Gen WP7 devices it seems who won't get any more updates......
