The quality of the operating system is a red herring. It only has to be good enough (some would say DOS and early Windows was not even that) What matters is the number of manufacturers and developers adopting the platform. On PCs that is what made Windows and all but killed the Mac and did kill Atari, Commodore, Acorn etc. Android and the licensing of ARM designs make them the new Wintel but more so because both are available to third party developers in a way that neither x86 nor Windows were on PCs. The only mitigation is that the rise of open standards means the lock-in to individual platforms is not as strong as it was so it is possible minority platforms will persist much longer.

Windows phone sucks ! It was never a phone company, coz of apple they starred doing it. Android will sell as its cheap, Apple will sell at its best …. Windows will continue to suck…. just a horrible horrible product.

I think windows will overtake IOs. IOs will go somewhere near 10%, WP near 15%, Android 65%, others 10%.

android wp rim and ios may stay for a while and may continue to grow or other wise who knows some better **open os** may come with better features and sweap them all

Ios was one of the worst communist OS. It's also not user friendly, lots of thing not able to do as m wish. For some moment I thought apple founders or the company came from Cuba or North Korea.

note 2 alone will probably outsell ALL windows phone put together

they should be selling 30 m windows phone per quarter by now.
replacing symbian, they only sold 2.9m even less than BADA
