figures...waited for the update for months, and 1 week after i change my phone, here it is. just my luck lol. i kinda liked how lg designed some software features...
cookie monsturr, 07 Dec 2012functionality is one thing, but quality of deliverance and efficiency is another. firstly,... morelike i said, i've tried the update for a few days already, it works fine.... also, with this update, with no major damages happening to my phone, there is no need to update my phone for the time being.... if u wanna compare with iPhones, which is way way overpriced, i can get a Nexus with prompt updates which only cost half an iPhone! and if u were talking about Apple's updates, how many still uses their 3GS? and those who's still using it really know how to use the phone?
ICS? That is some kind of super new Android that Google didnt annouced yet and LG?
LG drop the ball BIG time on this one. Waiting year and a half for the ICS update is pretty much no acceptable for what once was their flagship device and first dual core. Instead of focusing on their prime devices they only focus on making more devices. No wonder iPhone is an almost perfect machine. Android It's far better than iOS that's for sure. But LG, HTC, Samsung, Sony really should be up to the game on time. LG updating to 4.0 is kinda of a joke when 4.2 is just around the corner. I think if I want an up-to-date device has to be a nexus or even galaxy S3 (S4 and next gen's). Down side of the nexus devices at least for me are 2 things: no external sd card, and those obnoxious key buttons on screen (c'mon don't take away the precious screen real estate)
shintakauro, 07 Dec 2012yup, it is slow and diff brand provides diff updates but guess what, my old GB can do most of ... morefunctionality is one thing, but quality of deliverance and efficiency is another.
firstly, 4.0 is not a great OS version at ALL.
secondly, the optimus 4x HD is quad core and has MANY MANY complaints running 4.0 so i can imagine how terribly this will perform with dual core.
and finally, this is the last update 2x will likely get.. which again is terrible news.
You stupid or what?they have released the update be happy instead of whinning like a little kid oh right after you update your LG to ICS your gonna whine again say it lags bla bla bla
cookie monsturr, 07 Dec 2012ahahahah are you serious? this is a joke right? the word "update" means current. 4.0... moreyup, it is slow and diff brand provides diff updates but guess what, my old GB can do most of the things iOS 6 can do, if not more. then with this update, even if it is only 4.0.4, it beats iOS6 in functionality! so, well, with this update, there is no need to upgrade my phone anymore.... ^_^
hello good day! just want to ask if LG OPTIMUS BLACK has already an ICS update?? or just optimus 2x?? please answer me thanks in advance more power :)
Well, this sure confirms the end of the world. After 200 years, finally Optimus 2x gets an official ICS. Miracles happens.
I have the SU660 (Korean cousin of P990), even after 2 years, it can keep up with the main stream dual core phones nowaday (like Galaxy S advance, Xperias, Desire). I updated it to ICS last month and o/c to 1.5ghz, other than the ram, it's a great phone that can keep for another couple years.
Samsung, htc and sony must learn something from L.G wow L.G is so fast in updating devices ;D
Kudos to LG for releasing the update so quickly! Damn, they're fast!
ahahahah are you serious? this is a joke right? the word "update" means current. 4.0 is old now! 4.2 is ready to be released and they were working on getting this piece of junk to 4.0 alll this time???????
no wonder why some people get frustrated with owning android phones.. the update rates are pathetic!
This is a rumour I have just spoken to LG and they have advised it will be updated later, and to keep checking on the handset update menu ... complete joke
World's first Dual core phone
