I have updated my 2X to ICS and it looks nice. Unfortunately LG did poor job with this update. The phone freezes from time to time and there is a problem with the WiFi that drains battery in hours.

I tried to update my phone with LGMobile Support tool but nothing. In the Customer Support MENU, on Support Model said that LG P990 have update for Romania to v30a.
My phone is not locked to any carrier but when i try to update said " Software update is not supported for this model" ! WTF??? I am from Romania and the phone firmware is v20s - Gingerbread 2.3.4.
How you guys updated the phone?

The biggest thing that make me nervous is that the LG doesn't send any kind of news about this update! This make me so nervous! A little thing i want to know from LG: when it will be available the update! But LG seems to be so mute!

In Australia they haven't still updated it. I was about to throw the phone away and buy sg siii before Christmas and then I thought since Australia and Europe have similar standards why don't I follow this procedure http://androidromupdate.com/20...v30a-update/ It took few attempts to get it to work once it finished and it restarted its like a brand new phone my friends were amazed how fast it is now. I haven't managed to test everything but the main problem areas that I had was wifi and being generally slow have been fully resolved. It has been working perfectly for 4 days let hope it stays that way. Lets hope that LG Australia releases it soon if you can't wait and have nothing to lose maybe try the above procedure.

I'm back here to tell you that today i finally updated my P990 to ICS.
I just tried the LG tool again and this time the update worked well.
The phone seems ok, all functions working well, even GPS.
The version installed was V30a.
I confess that i was almost givin up of running ICS on my 2X...
