I have a Samsung now and would never buy another. EVER. Whatever features it has. Because it's not about the features. It's about the software. And the software on my Samsung is appalling. Every second function move is thought out wrong. It drives me NUTS. Soon as the 3G iPhone hits the market, my Samsung is hitting the bin.

It's definitely a beautiful phone, but it is unfortunately crippled by Windows Mobile. Apart from it's world class design, the key differentiator between the iPhone and all of the imitators is the elegance and efficiency of iPhone OS X.

OMG SERIOUSLY! Why is it so hard to put a WVGA screen on this thing??? We've been doing QVGA for YEARS now, let's get up to standard here and move on!!!!
WVGA+, 854 x 480px is what I want to see!

Initial Samsung i900 Omnia Cons:
100% fake design.
Xtreme low/incompatible/horrible monitor resolution.
Lack of 5-way D-Pad like Sony Ericsson X1.(Using optical D-Pad is horrible)
Lack of stereo loudspeaker.
Lack of hardware QWERTY keyboard.
Lack of Infrared Gate.
Low & cheap material quality.(Specially camera lens)

Yeah, an iPhone with Windows Mobile and a 5mp camera. Will connect to 3G networks and you probably won't have to switch to AT&T. Overall I'd say it's already got the iPhone beat just based on those few things. But that's coming from a guy that hates apple products and doesn't even own an iPod. I will probably pick this phone up when it is available.

I can't believe Samsung would have a phone with a 3.2" screen and keep the resolution at only 240 X 400 !! Shame on you Samsung.

from the picture, I dun see dedicated speakers. so samsung use earpiece as speaker and it means the volume will be soft like in many samsung phs. But it doesnt bother me from buying this ph.

man wheres the vga screen, alrite man you've got like 5 5mp cam phones but its no more about the cam man even 3.2mp is enough for a good pic, the HTC Touch Pro's got VGA screen now thats tempting.....

the samsung phones i have owned have been the most stable of all that i've owned. they also ususally add lots of nice features built-in that you have to purchase separately on htc devices. the only downside to the specifications announced for this phone is the screen resolution. the 5mpxl camera is a great addition. the big unknown at this point is the quality of the user interface.
the se xperia1, htc diamond, blackberry thunder, and apple iphone are now joined by the sammy i900. it will be interesting to see how these are selling over the next year.
