and that is because patents like this although, sony may have a stake in them, it is not something that the end user will see or help in the decision of buying a phone.
Software skin wise of android, sony have not offered anything to rival either samsung or htc

As much as am happy about Apple losing the war here, the patents in question are seriously a bunch of sh**.. How can these features even be patented?

iPhone 5S or 6 or whatever they decide to release next is going to be extremely expensive to make up for all the lost money in patent cases.
Apple have gone downhill since Jobs died. iPad mini? Jobs slated it saying it was pointless.. Yet they have released it anyway? If he was still alive, Apple wouldn't be sueing other companies, they'd be concentrating on making the next smartphone innovation to take the world by storm.. but no...
Instead, Apple continue to focus more of its efforts on bad mouthing other companies, which in turn is causing their handsets to suffer.. They haven't given the smartphone market a true innovation in 2 or 3 years now..
Sort it out Apple.

Muhahahaahaha! Apple will now have to suck more money from it's customers. I don't think their loyal customers would mind.
