I'm sorry but if u say apple is smooth.. i think you really seldom use your devices..

My new iPad (3) screen on time for each day is around 16-18 hours.. so i need to keep the charger plugged in for at least 10 hours a day while using.

It's totally very laggy especially the safari browser and the settings app. Even the mail app is laggy. However on comparison to my Galaxy S3.. the Internet app on the S3 is much much smoother than on my iPad.. especially after the jelly bean update.. the whole user interface is faster and smoother..

And for screen sensitivity and responsiveness.. i'm sorry but the s3 is also much more sensitive.. if u dont believe go try it yourself.

> In reply to Jake Peterson @ 2012-12-17 22:58 from 3sE3 - click to readIn 5 years, these android phones will have cameras with higher megapixels then the average camera. Cameras pretty much stopped increasing after 14 mega pixels.

But these idiot manufactures is all about the specs. spec specs specs and more specs. As we know Samsung will try their best to out due their competitors with tacky slogans, and specs, if someone comes out with a 30 megapixel camera they will out do with them 32 megapixel. Silly android war going on. it's fun to watch.

I agree, software development are important, but it doesn't mean android are with bad software development.
each of them have their goodness. u get smooth with iOS but can't do what droid does. android are freedom, you can customize almost anything and everything that iOS doesn't have.

again, I think it'll be wise if we choose based on our needed. if u wanna tweak, customize and freedom... choose droid and if you want the "all u need is there" choose iOS

both are good :) (sorry bad english)

This is mid-range not high end device and it seems quite good for a mid range device.

> In reply to Jeanandroidfan @ 2012-12-17 23:18 from MDVw - click to readDude, Android is not much useful as a PC so it don't really need such multitasking. One sufficient enough for the dialer and messaging to run at the background is enough. And you mention flash, you know that even Jellybean left out flash right? or chrome, as another example. Flash has been left out of mobile devices. Even Adobe won't post it's flash player updates in the Play Store anymore. Which shows that they don't particularly need it.

I totally agree about optimizing the software and all. For example, the iOS don't even lag with a mediocre hardware because their software is totally optimized for the hardware. Don't you see its benefits? People should focus more on the software right now. If this continues, yes, it is good that the hardwares are powerful and all but the software itself would still become a bummer.

Sad to see hardware manufacturers still pushing clock speeds when Apple has always demonstrated that smooth user experience isn't solely the hardwares responsibility.

I don't think thorough development is done to integrate the hardware and the software on android. It seems like they just keep rushing out core count and raise the frequencies on their devices, therefore resulting in potentially powerful devices full of bugs and unstable operations.

Android was the first mobile os to support dual cores, iOS was the first to properly utilize dual core on mobile devices. iOS also has better screen touch-sensors out there. It seems like Android just rushes every piece of technology that they find out about. Not much time really goes into the development of the final product.

PS, I am NOT bashing any companies or fans. Just thought I'd let some facts be known.

maybe it has quad core tagra3 like One X+. This clock is for tegra3, qualcomm s3 and samsung exynos5200. i hope the chip is tegra3 that is far better than qualcomm s3 that is used in XPERIA SL.

Also, don't forget the exynos 5250 with A15 cores

I will admit that S3 can't be ruled out but the antutu scores suggest otherwise

I somehow doubt this is a dual core proc ... The score is waaay too high for a dual core, no way in hell! It has to be a quad ...

sony should forget about the chinese market. with the new right wing party winning election and thier promise not to back down on the island dispute , anti-japanese sentiment will rise further thus the chinese consumers will avoid all japanese products even if they are made in china.
