well if you are rolling out JB so late, might as well give 4.2 and not 4.1

completely B** Sh*t .. i own an arc s and have been been running custom ROMs for some time now .. i have used JB 4.1.2 and even 4.2 !!!! they both work buttery smooth much much better than SONY's "best user experience ICS" .. the very fact that Galaxy S advance which has the same specs as arc s would be getting the official JB update proves that SONY is just negligent company or a company filled with incompetent developers !!!

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2012-12-19 21:14 from dMDN - click to readLook at the specs no written "Upgradable to 4.1 or Planned update to 4.1" for Neo L. So there will be no update for Neo L. Including sony's mobile phone brochure planned update is not written. Everybody should read the specs carefully before buying.

Xperia U you say? look at the specs if you can read, it only promised ICS. Which sammy phone in range of XU, its Ace 2. And Ace 2 has no update yet and no clues. XS will recieve update, whats the problem with that? S2 update was delayed, and might be canled if not recieved in january.

They probably ditched it.
They won't care.

All others are very low end Androids. Is that your comparison point for the last years (Sony) flagship?
You should have just focused on this years Xperia U, Sola, Miro and Tipo.

But then again, this is not a mediocrity competition.
I couldn't care less as to what brand is able to be the crappiest, being them all crap. What I want is comparison to excellence.

Apple is still updating phones from 2009!
Now, who is making overprice crap? Yes you are (Sony), yes you are (Sony).

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2012-12-19 17:41 from v0qx - click to readYeah sure.. Sony doesn't support SonyEricsson because they think people are too clueless to tie SonyEricsson to Sony (hint: look at the name, then see shareholder stakes in SE).

Reality is only one, last years flagship was left without support in less than a year from launch (an absolute no-go in that market share). 2012 "in-house" phones like Xperia U, which featured the much taught NXT design and sported the full Sony branding, are left without support the very same year they are launched.

This years flagship under the NXT design (Xperia S) has been relegated to the last batch. Have no doubts that will be the last update it will ever get from Sony (that's their MO).

You fool me once, shame on you.
You fool me twice, shame on me. Shame on me for falling once again into your scheme.

That is Sony right now.
A copy of all that Samsung did bad in years past, now Samsung actually supports their flagships for far beyond what is the "Android manufacturer" standard.

If you want things to change, then boycott their phones.
It's not like there aren't any alternatives in the market.

Sony had lived up the promise. Look at every phone specs where the planed update leads, only arc s didn't get it, because it's a sony-Ericsson. Now with regards to update only sony has made the most update with midrange phones. Samsung has only announced 2 phones, so don't get angry. S2 was promised to have an update october, but it was postponed many times. And maybe it will be canceled if they don't have it on january. Cheers to sony.

Really disappointing that Xperia S is one of the last model to receive JB despite that Xperia S is Sony's first flagship smartphone of 2012. Imagine, JB will roll out for Xperia S end of April 2013, so globally it will take until May or early June of 2013. This is really annoying. OMG, Sony never learned at all. I have been a Sony (Ericsson) fan since their very first P-Series smartphone but with this kind how Sony is dealing with their customers, Samsung will remain Number 1 for many, many more years to come and Sony will remain poor 4th or 5th place phone manufacturer for the next 10 years also. It so happened that I don't like Samsung phones (I am also using iPhone & HTC).

Thanks to Xperia go's lower resolution (320*480) i will see JB running on my gorgeous Xperia go:) If it would be same like on sola and U (480*854), go probably would be without JB! I guess lower resolution uses a lot less RAM. Otherwise, Xperia go, sola and U uses same CPU, GPU and amount of RAM.

Sony Ericsson has released too many phones(they're basically copying the success story of Samsung), it would be very difficult for them to update every handsets.
