Amazon cuts prices on 8X and Lumia 920 even further - read the full textAmazon has gotten pretty aggressive with the price cuts for Windows Phone 8 handsets. About a month ago, they cut the price of two WP8 flagships, the Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC Windows Phone 8X, and now they've cut them again. The Nokia Lumia 920 is now $40 with a two-year contract from AT&T (used...

Most of the apps on Android are themes for UI launchers, task killers, and battery saver anyways. They are pretty useless to me.

> In reply to Yeahright @ 2012-12-28 21:21 from 3agr - click to readHave you seen the news? Lumia 920 is SELLING like pancakes. These heavy discounts are most of the time just for USA, European countries get the phone for a lot more money and it still sells out. SIII is a great device but isn't everyone's cup of tea, it's exterior just doesn't seem to be that durable unlike L920. There are tons of apps on WP already and no need for million apps if more than half are rubbish. Weight is subjective, if you're that weak to hold a 180 grams phone then I ask myself how you fare in other subjects. BTW: I'm an Android user (Razr Maxx ICS) but I respect Nokia and I know it isn't an easy task to start from the ground with a new platform; it seems Android fans don't remember the first days of their beloved OS and how much time it took to become the Benchmark...
BTW: I don't believe your story, you said you have the L920 in front of you (present tense) , then you said you returned to the supplier (past tense) ? That doesn't make sense

What a surprise nokia are discounting this phine down already.I have the 920 in front of me now and i far prefer my s3.Far too limited and boring and the weight of the 920 is terrible. It was a tonne.Back in the box and returned to supplier. Not surprised they aren't selling.Too boring for me and poor choice of apps.I suppose i could keep it as an antique when nokia goes bust?

> In reply to Jeanandroidfan @ 2012-12-28 16:49 from MDVw - click to readThe battery on my L920 currently lasts over 2 days with my normal use which I'm quite happy. Actually the wireless charging helps because now that I don't have to charge every night on regular basis I sometimes forget :/

I've actually got one android phone right in front of me but I far prefer the L920 currently.

Not going to continue sparring with you though, reading your comments you don't seem to be very open to conversation or argumentation simply raving and trying to force your onesided views for everyone.

Android on Nexus 4 is as smooth as your WP8 and it do much more stuff. Actually I tried lumia 920 and HTC 8X in store yesterday and it lagged :). Android is much more customizable and you have XDA :). What I hate most with WP is that every phone that runs WP is almost identical, no matter if it is HTC or Samsung, but with android you can customaze it however you want so almost every phone looks different. But I guess everyone has a different taste. And that about benchmarks : the benchmarks have been optimazed for WP8 because it is simply not possible for MSM 8960 to beat APQ 8064, it is dual core S4 against quad-core S4. So in reality lumia 620 is ´´faster´´ in benchmarks but in real world Optimus G is much faster.

"Thanks to its Jelly Bean platform the S III mini is every bit as smooth as its WP competitor" and the sentence finishes with "but it doesn't look as good." What will the Android fanboys say for the last sentence?! Android is a tiger which requires two or more hearts... i mean cores...
WP is smoother with a single, dual core...and we have seen it already. And checkout the benchmark results of Lumia 620 with a 1Ghz dual core, 512mB RAM, outrunning the LG Optimus G with quad core krait and 2g RAM and a Quad core exynos, with 1GB RAM SIII ...running your Jelly bean. So no point in warring over or degrading OSes for what they are...people would buy it if they wish.

Nokia is doing a great job with profiling WP8. Steady growth over 2011. Hope that 2013 propels them back to greater heights.

"...Samsung Galaxy S III mini. Costing virtually the same as the 8S, the mini has double the RAM, but a less capable CPU. Thanks to its Jelly Bean platform the S III mini is every bit as smooth as its WP competitor"

...Thats well dont for a LAGDROID with a dual Cortex A9 which is considerably weaker than the dual Krait CPU of the HTC 8S? Or less capable as the reviewer called it.

Every bit as smooth. Now wait for really low end single core phones running Jelly Bean, like the Xperia E. The WP boys will not like it.

> In reply to Bilal Aza @ 2012-12-28 18:16 from Yg5g - click to readSo by that you mean that your phone is inferior to samsung, or else you would not care about writing here how bad they are, right?

And Android is superior to WP8, or else the nokia fanboys would not care about calling it Lagdroid.

Thanx for clearing that up for us Sir Genios.
