The Korean giant expects to ship a total of 510 million handsets this year. Of that total, some 390 million are expected to be smartphones, while the remainder will be of the feature phone...

samsung has the most terrible design. if only sony and samsung would merge, sony for design and display samsung for chipset gpu and cpu. then that would be the time all people would stop arguing about the best.

2013 is as a matter of fact a tough and competative year for all of the global brands including apple,samsung,htc,sony and nokia.from my openion,2013 will be the year of change specially in operating systems of smartphones in world of mobil technologies.Since samsung is expected to move on another OS named Tizen ,apple will jump on ios 7 ,Nokia shifting devices to microsoft based Window OS ,black berry will target BB10 and remaining the giant i.e google,s OS android will only b limited to sony,htc and motrola(the major ones).what could b expected in this year,i think nothing except chang in os,and pro etc.OHHHHHHHHhhhhh plz samsung do,nt tend to increase smartphone strength(we are sick of these)but try 2 give us something new-something bandable-rollable-unbreakable and something transparent.that is what every one want......TNX

Yes SAMSUNG you need to ship more -becasue you have to pay fine to the big brother - Apple -the more you ship and more they will sue you!!!!

510 million? To be able to sell this large numbers, Samsung, just like other brands, must persuade people to keep changing their cellphone and this is how it contributes to global warming... what a pity to our earth!
