Have the same problem, put the phone on overnight charge. Tried to use it in the morning and was completely dead. Have borrowed my partners Galaxy S3 in the mean time until I find a fix for this phone. Its around 11 months old. Phone is still under warranty as it was purchased in the UK. Worry facts for samsung I reckon if this is happening on the regular basis as it seems so.

My S3 died about 3 weeks ago as well and I am in the UK, I was shopping in the mall suddenly it reset and went blank when i tried to restart it would just go to the screen with galaxy siii and later even that stopped, Took it to carphone warehouse the the morons are saying liquid damage despite the phone never having any liquid splashed or immersed. will speak to samsung directly, should have done that before.

We (in UK) has received another update after 4.1.2 which did not upgrade the version nor the features, but this has apparently fixed the issue. Confirmed by one of my colleagues who had effected from this issue.

Hi, Samsung galaxy S3 died suddenly last night in middle of a call. I got this device 7 months ago when I upgraded my contract. The phone was really good in terms of features, speed and performance only battery was an issue as it use to drain out quickly. But very disappointing, I was prepared to get an iPhone but, friends convinced to S3 and this is what happened. I was recommending others but, no more I hope my problem gets sorted very disappointing another friend mine had same issue few months ago.......ohhhhhh

I experienced sudden death issue for my phone Samsung Galaxy S III GT-I9300. I called Samsung support in USA. They said International versions are not supported in USA, warranty is not valid for the sets purchased on ebay and amazon according to Samsung support.

The guys in my local Telstra store told me they couldn't do anything about the sudden death my phone had experienced, even though they acknowledged that the problem was in fact the main board. Apparently because the screen has a 10mm crack in the top left hand corner the warranty is void for any and all future problems regardless of whether its a known issue.
The last time I called them about a problem with my S3 ejecting the micro SD card over and over they told me it was a problem for Samsung to fix and to call them instead. Id only had the phone for about eight weeks at this point.
Apple replaced my last faulty phone on the spot. No questions asked. Now that is service. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

My s3 experienced sudden death after a short call one afternoon. I've always had iPhones since they came out apart from 2 galaxy s's I had the s2 which went faulty and I ended up back with apple. Now I have a dead samsung s3. I'll leave you to work out the rest! Once a phone shop for car phones, not to mention brands, have fixed this s3 it will be going straight on an online auction. Samsung a have failed me too many times. At least iPhones get swapped straight away. Top quality top after sales service.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2013-01-05 13:52 from Hxii - click to readApple doesn't own the touch screen arena, even if they were the first one to launch it. Similarly like a Television, I give a damn about who invented it. Only thing that interest me now is how it has evolved into an LED or 3D display. Its more like a phenomenon, call it market growth or product evolution.
I hate to be judgmental but advent of iphone 5 marked a black spot on the clean sheet of apple's history. If this is what people call innovation, I would definitely save myself from the trouble of being sorry for wasting my hard earned cash.

You must be living on another planet. They have been dominant for years already now.

That is too bad for Samsung users. They should buy HTC or Nokia next time.

> In reply to Whazzat @ 2013-01-04 16:54 from LKmp - click to readTrue iPhone copied some staff from other but a view unlucky Samsung copied every thing from other and call it a new features?!! And if you talking about software Apple in this field since late 70's Samsung it's hardware electronic factory not software. Yes I do I agree Samsung made the first color screen on phone but Apple introduced the new phone era and other copied to be honest.
PS. Actually Apple preparing for something new with the upcoming new iPhone 6!
