> In reply to JackTheRipper @ 2013-01-03 12:59 from fqeu - click to readNokia cheap plastic? Have you even held a Nokia Lumia 920? Well, of course you don't. It's made of scratch-resistant polycarbonate unibody bioplastic. The iPhone 5 aluminium casing would scratch first before the Nokia Lumia 920. Not all plastics are cheap, only the ones that Samsung use on their phones. Even Nokia's Asha phones have more premium look and feel to them than Samsung Galaxy S III.

I had this same issue , the samsung service centre charged me full amount for the motherboard ...they said warranty not applicable
Now i get to see that others are facing the same issue .
Got my phone motherboard replaced , but that cost me Rs 8567 or $155 approx .... is there anything that i can do for refund ??

This is the same thing that used to happen with galaxy R phones and those idiots at samsung just stopped producing the phone instead of a fix.

I hope they can still revive my S3 who died a few days ago. It's a 16gb and with me for only eight months. The symptoms are exactly as stated. After a reboot it just died.

I really dont understand this forum whatsoever, this article seems to be about some software problem (thus they will issue a fix soon). Not the build quality of the phone. so why all the arguement about the material the phone uses.
Besides, correct me if im wrong, the same "cheap" plastic used on the GS3 is the same plastic used on the One X, and Lumia 920..... Just different build, but same material

The term "CHEAP PLASTIC" is reserved only for Crappy Samsung Products.
It should not be used on any other device.
Even small brands like Micromax have a more premuim feel than Crapsung products. (almost) hehe...

This is the reason i will NEVER buy a samsung phone. Samsung is pure garbage. The phones are not strong, the screen breaks even with gorilla glass 2, and now to top it off the gs3 'dies'. What nonsense is this? Yet the phone is very expensive!
I tell you if not for android samsung mobile would have been totally irrelevant. The phones have ZERO QUALITY.
This is way worst problem any smartphone can have.

If you can't find the power button, it's probably because it fell off. Samsung fanboys always make the funniest comments. **in case you can't figure it out, it's funny because the comments are stupid**
