get ready to become Samy's guinea pig once again. I would go for Nokia Lumia 920. Win phone 8 is the way to go IMO. I love it on my laptop and want it on my mobile.

> In reply to Bohanon67 @ 2013-01-03 21:14 from mxF{ - click to readYou did the right thing and I really wish I had your smarts back then.

I actually wanted to buy the GS1 untill I saw it in the store. I didnt mind the plastic at all, but the God, it was HUGE. I had previously owned a Sony Ericsson w880 and the GS1 was about 30% wider and taller than that. I just couldn't see myself carrying something that big in my pocket and then I found out about the Wave and just fell in love with it. The design, the ultra sharp screen, it was all just perfect. And it still is; give it a working ICS rom and its agreat and stylish low-mid ranger with a beautiful screen and a relatively compact design.

Too bad that's never going to happen and too bad Tizen has a simmilar future. Bada devicesdidnt have bad sales. They just had worse sales than Samsungs Andorid lineup and Samsung decided to put all their efforts into their Galaxy phones. I actually read somewhere that the reason they made Wave II (which is almost exactly the same as Wave I except for having an LCD sceen instead of SAMOLED) was to have more amoled screens for GS1 and GS2 production. Sure, their "Abandon Bada" strategy paid off rather well, but it also left a few million people very, very sad.

And it's exactly what's going to happen this time around. As long as the Galaxy S4 and the Note3 have better sales, Tizen is always going to be a second class citizen in Samsungs Empire and that's why I'm sticking with Android.

without android, you think samsung smartphones can sell well?

for this new OS, i doubt samsung can sell as well as their android counterpart .

i suspect most likely it is a flop and waste of money.

Bada, sounds like Prata. The OS is like piece of shXX. 90% very similar to iOS

No personal bias here but it doesn't look impressive. Just the other day we saw the jail fish which somehow impresses me why not support jailfish

I have test a tizen phone and it is HORRIBLE. Icons, navigation is laggy, zero phone applications, etc. Better support ubuntu or any other open source platform than tizen.

Had Samsung feature phones previously so was really excited to see the new display tech on GSMA,SAMOLED v LCD. This made my mind up to make it Samsung.

Really was going to go for the Wave over the GS1 right to the last moment when I realised "Android" was probably going to be the platform be on.

GS1 it was, now on GS3 and haven't regreted my decision for a second.

Realistically speaking, the *ONLY* alternative to iOS and Android you can actually buy today is...

Tizen, Jolla Sailfish and Ubuntu all sound promising, but until a phone actually hits the market, I'm not gonna hold my breath.

BB10 and the guys at RIM are a joke for this very reason.

I guess Samsung wants more control and none of the existing OS'es will allow that. Android can't be forked - only reskinned, Nokia have exclusive 3rd party control of Windows and iOS is for Apple only. Samsung won't however have exclusive control of Tizen unless they fork it.
However, nobody knows or cares about the OS as long as it works so if Tizen provides sufficent apps and otherwise stays out of trouble then who knows - it could end up everywhere incl the desktop. They will however need an Office suite. How about buying Softmaker? Their product is Qt based as is Tizen.

Well to replace android or any of the others i rather go with ubuntu, the interface is different from the current OS and has full desktop integration, tizen does not seem to be nothing more than another android similar system in terms of OS, for that we have android thats much more developped, to have something new, then ubuntu is the real alternative.

Yea I remember Samsung, the real Samsung and their total lack of support (behold 2, Wave) and they lost me when they kept delaying Tizen so now, I have no interest in them at all.
