This will be music to Sony's ears with the Xperia Z announced in less than 12 hours at CES it's probably the most talked about phone at the exhibition. HTC on the other had have the Butterfly which although been around for about 8 week's or so it has yet to make an impact sales wise which as HTC confirmed a few days ago letting people know about new products ie advertising and any form of promo work had failed for them massively. Sony will and probably already have exploited this downfall of HTC's and used to propel their own products to the top.

Sony made great products but fail to impress anyone.Soon Sony will follow HTC to bankruptcy. They're already in deep water for TVs which couldn't sell. They created ground breaking game console which already overtaken by Xbox, Wii and won't be long Nvidia joint in the club and kick Sony out the door. Sony have its own Mobile b4 but couldn't sell, so they bought Ericsson. Now Sony back to basic by paid off Ericsson and stick to its original name. You can blame Korean electrical giant like Samsung and LG for that. These 2 companies growing like algae in the wild!

All their dramas because of 3 things missing:
1- No microSD card slot
2- No S4 or better quad-core with 2GB RAM
3- No proper marketing / not reaching every market
what did they really expect?

thats what you get for concentrating on rubbish windows phones.Concentrate all your efforts on android and not what people dont want windows puke.Htc were the markets leaders with android and produced some awsome handsets. Its samsung for me now followed by sony.I hope htc survive as we need them.

Sony is definitely on the rise, at the same time, HTC is hedging its bets with WP8. With Android profits being taken up by Samsung alone, it may be just a matter of time before other Android manufacturers do the same.

The reason is high price with comparable brands and many phones are low at hardware specifications( eg. No front facing camera, single core processor and less RAM with mid range phones)

they have big expectations because this year they are the only ones selling an 1080p screen, ohh and Sony, hmm and Samsung and Oppo and ZTE and LG and maybe others, but that's it. HTC has got something really different to offer than the competition, but hey-their well paid analysts know better...
