I agree with you on HTC - although their WP phones are very different.

Sony I disagree. The 2011 Arc design was different from the 2012 NXT design and different to 2013 "block" design.

IMO Sony and Nokia make the best designed phones.

Less internal memory with JB where apps can't be moved to SD card - failed.

Why would one buy this phone when the original S2 have better specs is getting JB update soon, S2 would looks like antique in next few month.

I am sensing Samsung downfall in near future, in fact very near future.

Samsung are now just beating a dead horse. Instead of releasing a newer better phone they realease the very same phone with a new name.

I almost laughed at the "revamped design" part. Virtually every Samsung phone looks alike.

Don't get me wrong:
Samsung makes some really good phones, but DESIGN is really not their strong point.

Same CPU, same RAM.. Better if they put something at least like dual-core 1,5Ghz or better battery...

I think Samsung are going to stop the manufacturing s2 & replace it with s2plus
Basically both are the same but s2plus will be tweaked to perform better & will have jelly bean out of the box .
I think it will be priced around 24000-25000rs just in between s3mini & s3

Sales of S2 are still good and they don't want to discontinue it. My guess is that they need to stop production of previous exynos prossesor to be able to move on current gen exynos 5. Rebranding it as a S2 plus also makes it easyer to sell as most would not buy a 2011 model phone in 2013. This new model gives a better software upgrade future.. Although it kills the future of the s2.

What's the use of launching this phone, when they had already launched galaxy S3 mini with same features.....??? And above all galaxy S2 is also supposed to get to Jellybean update with feature pack, which will make user experience same as this..........
