It seems to indicate that 8580 has four A9 cores (as in quad-core A9 CPU), while there are in fact only two. So, some more journalist correctness is required here.

who really cares @ the number of cores present?
has there really been a task u have used a smartphone to do and really hoped "damn i wish this sob had more cores or was faster"!!!

the whole bottleneck on these SOCS is the GPU.
sgx544 will be a welcome addition and this soc will power many mid range phones with good power

People, this is dual A9, not quad! Nowhere in the press release or presentation STE said it has four A9. EQuad is a power-save technology, nothing to do with the number of CPUs. Read it carefully and don't put assumptions as facts.

I seriously doubt this "eQuad" has four cores. Since when does ARM produce 4-CPU MPcore based on A9? This might be just a trick to fool people to think STE has some quad-core, which it doesn't.

Who cares about gazilion-core cpu's when there is no battery that enables the phone to last for more than a day or two on average use.
