Good strategy. Making a low margin phones with the large overhead of supply chain and support don't make sense.

Look at Samsung, they are only making profits in high end phones like Galaxy

yeah Apple, keep a high price on your iphone in an era where everything is falling downhill and you`ll do well in the future....I hate when corporations don`t foresee the future and this ignorance or arrogance will be Apple`s demise

I doubt Apple will ever make a cheap (to buy) iPhone, for three main reasons:
1) Apples "premium" brand image will be effected (just see the amount of iPhone faithful who troll the Android threads saying "you only buy Android because you can't afford an iPhone")
2) A cheaper iPhone won't be that much cheaper to produce therefore their profit per device would suffer.
3) A cheaper iPhone that's capable of most of what the flagship iPhone is would put some customers off buying the more expensive one, again effecting profits.

Apple has already made cheap iPhone, it's called iPhone5. But Apple sells it at expensive price. In other word, it's overpriced

Can't believe the were rumors of apple making a cheap iphone in the first place.apple wan't to make as much money as possible from each handset, so a cheap handset is not reasonable for them make.
