To all who are bashing its screen so guys just search around on different mobile sites as you don't know the screen quality. I checked almost all reliable phone reviews sites and one thing i've observed that, they all stated that sony has put one of the sharpest screen in xperia Z viewing angle is good although it has some lacks and phone is great in terms of its durability and performance. I know you all are jealous as samsung still didn't announce S4 and you all know that no other manufacturer except sony is able to produce such a beautiful design.
so chill dudes it happens :p take a chill pill and face the musik :D

one question pls, why do some people love to paint sony with false statements/comments for know reason what so ever. And from my observation these comments come from no where else but samsung phone users and fans out there. As a sony fan it really doesn't matter to me but those type of useless talk really affect the sales of sony phone and product to the point that a lot of people actually think that samsung products in general is better than sony's. please!!! kindly move over to your precious samsung forum and stop destroying another man's image and company for crying out loud. long live play love live samsung

After sony sold their S-LCD share to samsung, it is highly possible that sony use samsung's TFT panel.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2013-01-13 18:01 from RKky - click to readsony has worked on the viewing angle, Xperia Z has better viewing angles as compare to its previous screens although it has still some lacks but overall it is quite good and one thing is that TFT has natural colours. AMOLED has punchy, saturated colours but when you play movies so due to its deep blacks reproduction, dark parts of the video and movies loss the details and seems black. AMOLED has own its downside. It is still new technology that's why no TV is produced on OLED technology, recently sony has launched a prototype TV on OLED but still it is far from perfect for mass production.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2013-01-13 17:24 from v0qx - click to readIt's a software. There is nothing in the algorithm that requires certain hardware capability. But you can't compare it to a TV since most of TV's features are hardwired. And Samsung can make one if they want, like Toshiba TV with its Regza Engine, but they may have to discuss some patent trade.

And it's available on XDA-Developers. But originally BE is calibrated for each device because the device may have a different screen tech, brightness, and saturation to each other. So people may have problems porting BE over various devices. Anyway, Sony (Ericsson) made it exclusive to Xperia, so they tied it in with DRM, and I guess it won't be available on Google Play very soon. That might also be the reason why BE stop working once you unlock the phone's bootloader. But it's still a subject of discussion on XDA-Developers forums.

so the specs of this beast start to show their quality. camera quality is very good, but this is just the beginning. wait for other aspects of it like screen and audio quality as well.
Sony is the best.

damnit sony, I expected better from this camera.

what's worse is, that it seems purely a software issue, the image processing is just too aggressive and it removes too many details

Bravia engine is composed of 2 parts. One a kernel module and the second an android service packed along with Sony ROMs. It is not hardware at all.

Secondly. Adreno 205 is an ancient GPU in the SOC world. It is made by Qualcomm, the most secretive & locked down hardware manufacturer in the world. Sony has no say in the architecture of the chip and nothing is built by them "in-house" as far as the chip is concerned.

The screen is said to be tft tn panel not an IPS one. I am concerned about the viewing angles.
