Full-res Sony Xperia Z camera samples surface from CES - read the full textLucky fellow journalists got the chance to smuggle out an Xperia Z outside the CES grounds for a short photo shoot and they've published the results. Sony made a real splash with their Xperia Z and ZL announcement at CES this year. Besides the 5-inch 1080p screen, the Xperia Z features a 13MP...

terrible. manufacturers should focus on the already popular 8MP cameras QUALITY. we don't want NASA resolution pictures with crappy quality. 8 MP is enough :) 8MP will be small on 4K screens, not 1080p

the video stabilization and details are the best of all Sony's phones...the still samples are less noise than the previous xpaeria T,S,V

but still the same algorithms of Sony...the details are very poor

the 13 mp is just for the size of image not the quality , anyway that's very good for 4mm focal lens and 7.9mm thickness for the mobile at all.

I had an Xperia X10 which received Bravia Engine by a software update. And the person who you replied to was right, TFT = Garbage, IPS = Good screen.

Very good noise levels, inside the wheel wells of that Ford for example, the Xperia T would have made that into a noisy mess. Still need to compare side by side but i think noise levels is near the level of Nokia 808, which in itself is a miracle when we compare the size of the sensors and lenses.

Slow continuous autofocus on video is an advantage in most scenarios, from my experience (or for my most common types of video recording at least), but an option to make it faster for sports and action scenes would be nice, or am i asking too much now?

video stabilization may be available with no option to tun it off , and that's it! Amazing Camera, we might see also even more improvements when released , but amazing , best ever

When viewed at 100% they look like paintings... Which defies the point of high resolution.

Awesome device. But I'm worried about the tft screen. I mean this is the IPS era, isn't it?

But the cam is good. :-)

Finally Sony seems to be getting into the scheme of things... They must market this properly to ensure it meets the success it deserves!
