On serious note: people and their needs are different. I sold my HTC One S and bought Xperia S. Camera does matter a lot for me. And, IMHO, HTC UI really sucks. LAGGY.
Very very very expensive good product but the international unlocked version cost 800 uss today .
HTC is beautiful but Sony is the best for me when it comes to designing phones. The Timescape UI had already been modified on the Xperia Z and ZL and in the upcoming Sony phones so its less bloated with better functionality. Even Samsung has their own UI that they adopted but I haven't seen Sony adopted HTC's UI. Having lesser bloated UI is gonna be more efficient to use and has a lesser chance to lag compared to some nice but bloated ones. In design department, Sony ate everyone alive even the Butterfly looked like an old big chunk when it was put side by side with Xperia Z during the CES. I just hope that M7 will be released sooner than expected because I wanna give it a shot but I bet that in the camera department whether its the 13mp of the M7 or 8mp of the Butterfly versus the 13mp sensor of Sony, Sony will win. They are manufacturing everything in the electronic world while HTC only makes phones. Xperia Z wins hands down versus the Butterfly. Not to forget, Butterfly is only water resistant and Sony is dust and water resistant. Dragontrail Glass on the Z is 6x tougher than Gorilla Glass 1 or 2. Take note, the 2 is 20% thinner than the 1. ;)
Why most of the phone have less memory than they claim?
4 months ago this phone would have sold in its millions in Europe, htc have dug their own grave by waiting so long to release this in Europe, better phones just round the corner like xperia z and s4, who ever is in charge of marketing at htc needs sacking, he/she is going to kill the company
This phone has also been launched in India for Rs 49900.
Matt, 18 Jan 2013So Sony Xperia Z is: -Thinner and smaller for the same screen size -Bigger battery -cheape... morebetter screen, htc sense, better cpu performance
Matt, 18 Jan 2013The Xperia won't mind, it waterproof after all..Well but it is out of GLASS, what occurs more often: That you empty a bucket of water over the smartphone (it doesnt mean more and all are rain resistent) or that the phone slips outta your hands? Yeah you can use a case but what is your design worth when you use a case anyway? ^^
Anonymous, 17 Jan 2013M7 will mop the floor with the Xperia. Shame about that old screen from iPaq days Sony, bette... moreThe Xperia won't mind, it waterproof after all..
Why is HTC taking the butterfly to Europe just now??
The M7 is around the corner and the Sony Xperia Z has stolen a lot of potential buyer's hearts
So Sony Xperia Z is:
-Thinner and smaller for the same screen size
-Bigger battery
-cheaper
remind me why people should be looking at this phone?
Awesome phone! Can't wait for it to come to the Canadian market.
Why don't you mention ridiculously small 2020 mAh battery? It's a joke.
Sorry HTC. You are so slow in releasing your phones. All 1080p eyes are on Xperia Z/ZL now. 2020mAh battery vs. 2330mAh. Of course HTC has the weaker battery as usual.
memo, 17 Jan 2013HTC is not water and dust resistance! Xperia Z is.
design wise Xperia Z nails the butterfly b... moreHmm,
Well - hTC has been making smartphones before (I hope you are ware that O2 phones were manufacture by hTC) Sony even tied up with Ericsson to make a decent phone...
I think that settles it ;)
