Well, if they're going to develop Windows Phone, then they first need money. And to do that, they should release a few Android phones. Think about it. A Nokia Android would crush every other company out there, at least in my opinion. I'd really love to see that.

This is an opportunity for a software/electronics company to transition into the smartphone/cellphone market. I smell a buyout.

Anyone remember how sony started off into smartphones/cellphones?

So instead of sinking in mediocre crapdroid-land they should have stuck with Harmattan and kept Symbian inbetween (and later on for the cheap featurephone replacements).

Now they have nice hardware with yet onother mediocre OS which they have absolutely no voice into whatsoever and hence have nothing of significance to offer or differentiate themselves with.

nokia should just develop android phones... would have saved a lot of jobs, not to mention make them enough money to get through hard times, at least until the windows phone OS matures enough

I don't understand, isn't Lumia line sold well ?

I'm not WP user, but I think Lumia line does its job well, and I might buy one in future (waiting until wp ecosystem grows a bit).

However this kind of layoff make me a re-think again. And I believe it's not just me. Potential buyer and investor might be asking the same.

What's wrong Nokia ?

I personally believe Nokia will success with their lumia phone... common guys, Nokia just introduce lumia 920 n 820 with dual-core right? so what if they introduce a 5" quad-core wp8 in future? Nokia are well known for The hardware improvement since forever. there still bright future for Nokia.. :)

> In reply to Kenswiss @ 2013-01-17 20:29 from fu$Z - click to readit means that you lie and that never lags on an armv7 processor while lumia 610 and 510 will lag a lot with apps and even will take time to load settings! while wp7 and even wp8 do not know what true multitasking and freedom are! and even lumia 920 and apple ios apps crash a lot but those two oses won't even tell you while on android you can choose force close, report to google play or wait! android has the ability to tell you to better serve you
