Nokia to release a 38MP WP EOS phone this year - read the full textThe Nokia 808 PureView was the company’s first PureView smartphone and it still holds the throne as the best cameraphone out there, despite the Lumia 920 challenge. It seems that this is about to change though as the company's Windows Phone camp is going to get its own PureView...

I wonder how they're going to make a phone with a 38MP sensor compact. The Lumia 920 already had enough criticism about its size and weight, and that has a much smaller 8MP OIS sensor. Perhaps PureView Phase 3 is about making cameras ultra small without sacrificing performance?

Now this is what we call innovation...other manufacturers should stop using this word. Especially Samsung and Apple. Both of them just upgrading their hardware just like we do for our pc's every 3 year. only thing I want is to optimize the size of the phone...bigger sensor will have bigger size as well. Cant blame Nokia on that...

This new WP will be using the same thing 8MP Hardware and bigger sensor to oversampling. You should read the review of 808 Pureview in www.dpreview.com (website for photographers like gsmarena for us). 808 PV comparison is done between best Point & Shoot cameras and starting level DSLRs...for the DROID fans read the review of 808 PV vs Samsung Galaxy Camera. being a full PoS camera it wouldn't beat the 808 PV in most of the areas......

What I was trying to say is that am waiting for a god point and shoot + smartphone combo. The high end point and shoot cam can be better than some dslr.the Polaroid iM1836 is a good exemple of that.
