I salute you Symbian! You're taking your rightful place in the Mobile Hall of Fame, being a forefather to the new mobile os's of today. You have done a great job! As long as a Symbian phone is alive, you'll never be forgotten..

Wait a minute, Ashas are S40 right? And S40 means Symbian40 right?? So it is not typically Dead?

I don't know why so many are shocked and upset by this? This is what happens when a company does not bother to update and out of date unstable OS to modern standards in the for over 10 years. It was good back in 2002 - 2007 as the competition was not very good as well; but when they basically left it when iOS and Droid hit the scene it was plain idiotic of nokia.

Hope the lesson has been learnt Nokia!

Its sad to see the best OS put to sleep. ....I have been a fan of nokia and symbian and will always be....I still have 10 nokia fones in my drawer. ....I have just purchased my 2nd 808 pure view....tat a collector's item a true master piece wic no other mobile company could develop....808 pv is still my main fone....and I have 9900 bb and note 2....but still nothing beats 808 till now....I still love symbian belle on fp 2 pack....all the functions wat 808 has no fone even comes close....And I love taking lot of pic....I travel a lot...soo free navigation with prinstalled maps is awesome....usb otg....fm transmitter....and all...I love my 808....now I have 2 808 to last me for ever...love u symbian and Nokia....thou I have heard 41 mp is cmg to windows 8....lets wait and watch....Windows needs to learn alot from symbian....

GSMA, please, stop spreading disinformation.
Symbian works fine on my phone today. And I bet I will work like a charm longer than any cheap samsungs toys.

It's a sad day for Symbian Lovers. IOS and Android can be the king of the chain but neither of the two is a simple to use as Symbian was. RIP...
