Maybe Google and Apple has great search features for the ill minded who never know where they are going. But if you know your destination Nokia Maps will get you there without any GPRS, EDGE, LTE or 3G it can be all offline. I have used the maps across the US, Ghana and Puerto Rico.

Maybe you never really used themaps to their full potential. But Nokia has been creating global maps for 30+ yrs and is used as the base map system for most luxury vehicles. Wait till Porsche begins to use apple maps in their cars and see how people like be re routed into a lake.

i am not expecting a refresh of lumia line-up as they would not want to sabotage their only chance of revival through the WP8 Lumias. Also, what i would expect is a PureView WP8 with a humongous sensor and over-sampling. Fingers crossed.

No, it was about pixel binning, which reduces noise(but doesn't improve dynamic range at all). And the ability to use crop for zooming.

And the huge images did not have nearly as much details as the megapixel number suggested. Check the resolution chart on this site and see how poor the pixel level sharpness is in Pureview 808(around 3100 LPH). The miniscule lens just can't be sharp enough for such small pixels.
Not even mentioning the poor dynamic range and other problems the tiny pixels bring.

"So, Nokia has the bar set up pretty high for this year and we can't wait to see what they are up to."

No, the bar is pretty low, remembering how bad the dynamic range and the pixel level sharpness were in the Pureview 808.

"the Finns have scheduled their press conference for the first day of the expo, Monday, at 9:00."

No, it's one big canadian and some finns.

PureView - on Lumia 920 - was about low-light photos. On the 808 was about huge images with details. Who knows what the next PureView will be.
