> In reply to Sanjay @ 2008-07-10 15:25 from vGaeIt is a selfpraise if one is sincere on a public forum. If we agree to be a little honest with ourselves, it shall not hurt to admit that htc diamond is and may be the mother of all wm phones for the next decade.

Whya re you guys bothering with this phone, Just go get the Samsung Omnia. It's sleeker, more manly and definitely functions longer and better. Of course if you are into the half-baked of a phone called the iPhone, then you'll best keep your money for that iPod with outdated phone functions.

UI is very slow. Phone sucks. Tried to copy Iphone, but can never make the same as Iphone. Poor messaging. Poor sound quality and battery backup sucks. All in all its a waste of money.

I bought it for INR 29,000.00 got only 10,000.00 Bought it last night and had to lose 19K to get rid of it.

The UI is really fast for me, the phone overall is really fast for me. I did spend 15 minutes setting it up tho after reading:

The difference is amazing.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-07-09 20:21 from jJeeAbsolutely agree with you - the touch UI is ridiculously slow and unresponsive! The speaker sound is so tiny & lousy too!

This 'beefier battery' is such a rip off & it make the phone so much thicker & heavier...this is such an UN-RESPONSIBLE solution from HTC!!!

I believe you probably will get back half what you paid for(only if you are lucky); cause that's what my friend is asking for,but still unable to get rid of it!

The Apple iphone is coming out tomorrow(7/11) & a lot of people around the world are looking forward to it. I believe the first hand or second hand price of the HTC Diamond will drop further(service provider in my country had been giving out discount of approx. 20% to 50% off the list price depending if you do a straight buy or with a contract!

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-07-09 20:21 from jJeeI agree with an earlier poster. To spend the price of a notebook computer on the HTC diamond and then have to pay HTC even more for their shortsightedness does seem a little much. The phone has great potential, but i'm afraid a 3rd party dealer (rather than HTC) will be getting MY money for the battery upgrade. Plus, since third party products seem to pack in far more mAh's for the $£, for me, HTC has no case.

The thickness of the HTC Touch Diamond roght now is 11.5mm. With the extended battery, the thickness will turn up to be around 14mm thick. This same type of battery (excluding cover design) is being used in Telus' HTC Touch Diamond, with different backplates being selectable.

Thank you.

It's nice that they've given attention to this major issue with their phone. My problem with this is. I've already paid $785 for my phone. Now I have to pay another $80 to get a battery that should've come with my original purchase in the first place. There's something wrong with that picture. Not fair to customers. One major issue down. Now if they can make available an upgrade to its ridiculously slow and unresponsive touch UI, then this phone would really rock, but I wonder how much would that upgrade would cost their customers. It seems as if they deliberately sold this phone with bugs so they can make more money out of it.

This is my first and last HTC device. I'm already on the lookout for a replacement. My phone will be on craigslist very soon. Unfortunately, with all its issues, I'd be lucky if I could sell this phone for $500.00. Any takers?

for god's sake, if someone can make a plain, shiny flat back cover with a beefy battery, this thing would win.
