We are all being squeezed (except the people at the top and bankers) in terms of our disposable income (I for one have been on the same salary since 2009 - and inflation has been at around 4-5% for most of those years until recently it dropped to 2.7%). I have always been a savvy spender/saver but now I have to be even more savvy with my money. This is how things will be for the foreseeable future.

Sony must be over ambitious pricing this phone so high. Even I wanna buy this but not at this price! I'd rather use my SGS 3 for a few more months and wait to see what the S4 or HTC have to offer. Good luck with your sales numbers Sony!!!

In Belgium we have a confirmd price of €649 VAT included and the device will be available by week 10

Its worthy to buy this guys, CAN any of IOS or Android be brought when you go on outting and have a splash seaside without worrying of your handset to be soaked to water? no one else does like SONY do.. so you can capture every moments worry free... go ahead indulge

Why not price somewhere around ☼6400-ish even if it drops one wouldn't feel ripped :(

Bluntly speaking, it's not because SXZ is premium handset, but because SXZ is Sony it wouldn't sell well!

Clearly they don't have selling power like Samsung.
And the steepier price for many people too!

a very competitive price but too steep .. sony prices tend to fall very soon. apple makes premium quality handsets hence the price is justified. hope sony xperia z and live upto the standard expected.
