Apple iPhone 3G is out, gets disassembled and all

The credit for those do not go to the manufacturers but to Apple for waking up from their languid dominant positions and mundane user interface.
The iphone is not perfect, admitted, but its blazing the way ahead when it comes to mobile innovation and Apple is responsible for some of the welcome changes that we are seeing in recent times even among non-Apple phones, including the Blackberry.

> In reply to Kevin Nokia @ 2008-07-12 15:02 from N7$xJust why are people crying foul over having to pay for some 3rd party applications. I'm a Symbian, UIQ 3 and a Windows Mobile user - just how many devices come with unlimited free applications provided with the firmware. I paid a packet for a Nokia E90 Communicator and I am disappointed with the applications provided free with this flagship Nokia Communicator.

No MMS? No video call? Pay-for-use features from App Store instead of being included in the firmware? No turn-by-turn voice navigation with GPS? I'm not so sure that this phone is all it's cracked up to be....

The major downfall is of course the fact that they are restricting the phone to certain networks meaning customers wanting the phone on orange for example will be sorry.
Why create a phone like this and limit your user/client base. Apple you fools!

I used to Download games and stuff all the time for my nokia but this phone, even with it's limitations is on another level. The screen size and clarity is better than anything I have used before (I have been surfing the Internet on a 'normal sized screen phone and it's so much hassle! Having to click text input boxes with a tiny little arrow so I could type things on the keyboard. Having to scroll around trying to find what I wanted and then trying to read the 2mm sized words! This is the best Internet on a phone ever and also the best way to input text into a phone.
Being able to send pic MSG would of been good but I will just email them instead, I would of liked bluetooth stereo because I hate head phone wires they always seem to get tangled up.
The apps site has some amazing free games and things which really impressed me, as I said I used to trawl the Internet finding games before on a nokia but this iPhone is on another level.
Nothing is perfect in every way for everybody as we all want different things but for me, Yeah, I want that one!

does the 3g iPhone can download files? or the safari is just only designed to surf the internet, not download the files.

> In reply to David @ 2008-07-12 00:13 from kiQhThe innovations that the iPhone brings far outweigh the missing bits mate. You're talking about a groundbreaking device that is already a legend. Maybe you should update and enlighten yourself before writing in a forum like this. People sure do pay for the Apple brand, and that is because of the excellence in their products, which cannot be matched by any other. As for the missing features in the iPhone, who said they were standard features anyway? Apple isn't a company that blindly follows trends set by other companies. It makes its own. Don't complain just because you can't afford it

I got a demo in my store.
i got tired of it after 45 seconds.
Pretty much after a day, it needs a full recharge.
A "meh" phone, like the N73 or 6500 slider.

I have never been a big fan of iphone. In my opinion the phone lacks some serious features. Not a bad phone, but can't be compared to Nokia's or SE's flaghips.

Typing SMS or email in 'portrait' is terrible, virtual keyboard is too small. Can this be changed to 'landscape'?
No MMS capability? WTF....

BUYER BEWARE!
3G has been around for a few years now and Apple thinks that they've discovered America. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Buy a Nokia N95, N81, E90 or any other great phone cheaper and better than the Iphone (Crapphone). Choose Nokia, Blackberry, Sony Ericsson, LG, Samsung.
Apple has been in the market less than 2 years, with 2 phones. Dont waste your time, Nokia releases that many a month!

The more I see it the more I feel... this is a lady's or a fanboy's device. Not yet a mobile phone, but definitely more than an iPod.
It is all that it is, plenty of sleek and sexy look, but nothing to substantiate it with.
You guys and gals are all nuts to pay that kind of money for this half-a-phone.
