Its how it changes the mobile world, the features it gives, popularity, innovation etc... those things are also considered when judges chose the best phone not just because how powerful it is... just remember that

Dual core kraits such as the Motorola Droid RAZR HD (MAXX) and M both performed similarly as the S3. The quad-core kraits (Nexus 4 and Optimus G) with their Adreno 320 overpowered everything in real life performance. Though Tegra Zone still have an advantage.

> In reply to Thephonegeek @ 2013-02-04 15:00 from uNVL - click to readdroid DNA did nothing to create a big impact in 2012, fanboism put a aside, S3 was pretty much a benchmark tool to compare with other phones. S3 has a very good chance being a winner in my opinion. For the tablets, i Believe galaxy note 10.1 had alot of newer features compared with the rest but it was a little bit laggy at launch, but who knows.

I wonder where are all the Nexus devices (except 7)
Nexus 4 > SGS3, iPhone 5 and all others
Nexus 10 is on par with iPad4

Phone category:
Padfone 2, Optimus G, Nexus 4?
RAZR HD MAXX? Not as much power as the above three, but more juice to actually use the phone. All of the above + LG Optimus 4X and HTC one X would be better options over the dreadfull S3
Tablet category:
Ainol Novo 9 is a great choice. Brilliant screen, power, RAM and battery. Granted, it wasn't available in 2012 yet. So if justice is on their side, the Transformer would definetly take that one.
