Samsung appeals to the masses that's why. Generic plastic cheap phones. Samsung is the Toyota of the smartphone world. It's nothing to brag about really.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2013-02-10 17:27 from m7KR - click to readAnonymous m7KR, you're welcome to discredit me. I am, after all some random guy with absurd sounding background and alias - a licensed architect, award-winning visual artist, a watercolorist, a college professor and an Urban Sketchers correspondent. We all want the truth, don't we?
As for my "fake art", these are referenced from pictures by eye and from blank. Oh, that is nothing fancy. You can bash every Deviantart contributor with a Wacom tablet who do these types of portraits with the PC. I'm sure they are all "edited photographs", as you would hope.
As far as the truth is concerned, (the topic was about how useful the S Pen was with the Note II) - the Note II wouldn't be as successful as it is now without the S Pen and the software that goes with it that is useful to all.
The original Galaxy Note was above Dell's mere 5" screen size. Samsung ushered a Wacom tablet system with it, as I was hoping years before that. Now, with the Note II, they've improved power, memory capacity, screen, battery capacity and software.
I can just say I hope to see Samsung succeed further with the Galaxy Note 3 this year.

I saw your edited photos that you said you had drawn on Note 2, it was photos edited to look like drawings. People are not as stupid as you think, take your boasting elsewhere. You are no more architect than i am the king of centauri alfa, and for sure you are not an artist.

This report was a reflection of 2010 to 2012. 2013 is another story.

Google Music and all that. Only reason I know it exists is because I read American tech-news.
Most of Europe doesn't have it, and certainly not Africa and I don't think it's many (if any) Asian countries with access.

> In reply to adrian.rem @ 2013-02-10 11:41 from LaBJ - click to readEven the pop-up note (when you pull out the S Pen) during calls is useful for the "random" user for jotting things down important.
Doodle on your calendar to plan. Correct or write over pdf and spreadsheets. Sign electronic documents. Quick sketch ideas. Markup maps for directions. Live markups on the power point presentation slides while on a wireless connection with the projector. When you need to, the S Pen is there to pull out. When you don't, it's tucked away. You don't have to carry around an odd thick separate capacitive stylus.
Hover previews with it is not something I do often. Drawing/sketching ideas for the professionals for work is probably the prime reason for an architect like me to get the Note. Drawing is the first ever record type or evidence of our forefathers before the formalization of words and symbols.
The Note had certainly raised some standards in the versatility department in my book with so many other things than the S Pen.

This report is a reflected value from 2010 to 2012. 2013 is a different story, samsung up to this point has no phone good enough to offer. Only rumors about s4. Agree?

There is a reason for this:
1) Samsung brings its flagship devices to all markets. Unlike Sony or Motorola who ignore certain markets like mine.
2) They update their devices well. My s2 now runs official jellybean.
3) And thirdly, they build the BEST DEVICES in the android ecosystem. Even today, my s2 is pretty fast and well supported by Samsung.
I'm pretty certain my next device will be the galaxy s4. :-)
