It's not only the craftsmanship of the casing (they could be better off buying some piece of jewelry in that case), it's also a collection of well thought and and individually tailored services (which are also quite expensive) like the Vertu Concierge and VIP access to clubs in key business cities. Their prices were beyond my understanding, so I took some time to read (from their website and some external sources) and their product/services bunddle totally makes sense if you're ridiculously rich.

Usually these kind of phones are a standard samsung or htc inside a new shell. For this kind of money it should really be a speacial device. Probably with an OS which you can find anywhere else. Then you can put 8000 Euro price tag without shame.

I'm buying this phone for real when I get up the money. I'll try to code Ubuntu for Mobiles to work on it.
Exclusive Concierge Service, Free Hotel Rooms and Room Service, Here I come. :D
It all comes free for owner's of this phone if you didn't know. This is only one of the reasons it costs so much.

Sheer Genius.
Nokia say they wont move on to android...
3 years later they realise their mistake...
they sell vertu to one of there front companys and start using android.
only issue is that it should have 2gb of Ram..
Cheers
