Anyone doubt iPhone's importance now that even Google admits to it by cash?

Google is taking a wise strategy. Once Android and iOS using Google Search and Maps, it will monopolize the market. Other competitor such as Bing and Yahoo will be left out.

primary source of income for google is ads and search....when u put a search inquiry in google it shows relevant websites and some ads too at the starting regarding that search....when u click on it google takes share.....there are more than 500 million ios devices on this planet even if they search google for only 4 times a day it means total 2 billion google searches and even if google makes 1 cent from those searches it make around 20 million $ per 7.3 billion $ per u can see that's a lot of money...that's why they pay to use their search engine......I hope this clears thing up for people who are saying apple is screwing google,,....actually apple is taking their fair share.....

Google is not stupid (of course), so I believe they have their calculation with $1B investment in iOS.

Above all idealism between close vs open OS, is money talk. It's all about the money.
(some survey indicate that most mobile web traffic comes from iOS instead of Android, although Android dominates the percentage of mobile OS)

> In reply to [deleted post]Oh, typical Android fanboy. Throwing around childish insults without even knowing what he is talking about. Of course LG is beating Apple in overall sales. Apple doesn't sell dumbphones. That's LG's staple in the US. Now if you actually read you can see that when it comes to smartphone sales, the picture is much different. You can read right?

BTW I see you couldn't come up with anything to prove that guy's claim of 48 million GS3s sold. Probably because it's an Samsung fanboy dream not anchored in reality.

I like the Android and a fan "but people" this search engine has bigger plans for the future remember it's all developed from the defence service USA. Some time back Google made a promise that every house hold would be using Google Android service.......... Big Brother has got a lot Bigger.

"Indeed, if seen in isolation, iTunes+Accessories combined is a bigger business in terms of revenues than any of the other phone vendors except Samsung:"
