Samsung is creating new trend and fashion for new gadgets just like apple did, but apple's mistake was its focus on design and perfection. It had been successful tactics till the samsung emerged with new ideas based on horse power, great screens, multicores, long battery life and so on. Sammy is popular because of a bunch of factors that sony is lacking. Sony needs to create something really outstanding. The entirely new range of gadgets, not just a few relatively good phones.

Last chance for samsung / android to wake up and fix their battery drain and lag. 1 year left till phone contract ends. If both issues are not fixed.. Apple will be the only top dog left.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2013-02-13 14:22 from m7KR - click to readXZ or XZL cant even touch S3's sales record n as usual only two top dogs r compared everytime since 2010 n they r samsung galaxy s series n apple's iphone... in 2013, only these two brands will be compared against each other for top notch n the devices are galaxy S4 n iphone 5S... very few, like u care about XZ/XZL... n i dont say XZ/XZL is any bad then these two brands but the point is whether they make it to all markets or not?? samsung releases its flagship in every market whether good or bad market while sony releases its flagship only on 50% markets while other markets dont get it so ppl r forced to buy other products n samsung is only option for them coz of its availability... also sony cant produce bulk products while samsung can.. n ofcourse marketing is most important where no one can beat samsung... and samsung provides early updates in its flagship compared to other droids...all these counts in sales of any product... so my friend sony still has no chance wid XZ or XZL n if they really wanna compete wid samsung, it will take them 4-5 yrs n that also if they should produce good phones in a way that next is always much better than previous, like samsung n apple does, then only sony will stand with samsung n apple...

Build and design is going to matter more now, this is the lesson Samsung has failed to learn and it is why many people are waiting for Xperia Z and dont give a F about S4.

Sure S4 will sell a lot more than Xperia Z and ZL combined, Samsung has the momentum to penetrate every part of the world market, will take 2-3 years to slow them down. Its a good start anyway, the Z is shifting our view on what a high end device is, S3 and Note 2 definitely does not fit into this new category, and neither will S4 (im 99.9% sure of it).

High end has already split into two categories, iphone 5 on the one side and max performance on the other side. Xperia Z is the first phone to tick the most important boxes from both worlds.

If they learn from loosing companies like HTC and Sony, then they will go down.. HTC and Sony should learn from them instead on how to make a proper phone that everyone buys.. I think gn2 will look premium than ip5 after 2yrs..they should use plastic but build it in a premium way without glossy finishing..

I heard the next space shuttle will be made of hollow carbon fiber since its stronger than steel and obviously lighter, effectively putting titanium alloy into retirement.

at what point will we see handsets not needing to be more powerful, but instead the apps and software become more optimized? we see this all the time in pc gaming, where a properly developed game can look great on pc, and not drag down the system, but a rubbish console port can send the temperatures through the roof! the quad core Krait in my nexus 4 is more than enough for any application on a handset.
