Its the Cinese New Year which is to be blamed for the late release and limited stock, like JiaYu announced these specs at just 9k however they failed release it before Canvas HD..
Micromax might have pushed the manufacturers to get any amount of handsets in the new year period and I guess they only managed to get just 2k, 10k should have been a good amount and I can still say that it would have gone out of stock but more people would have felt lucky.

I tried looking on Snapdeal but found them mentioning it now as "BOOK NOW".
Kept finding and found one good site selling it.... just 9Rs costlier than Snapdeal ;-)

Guys! go for it, best in segments, MMX is offering a nice, beautiful and powerful phone in the Pocket fit price range. cant expect more than that in this price tag!

The booking are open..but they will be shipped only after a month around Mar 15th which is really bad. So, be careful while you book on the snapdeal. Be aware that the delivery will happen only after a month or so.

These phones are sold in India saying that they are made from an "Indian Manufacturer" which is nothing but a hoax...
These phones are neither designed nor manufactured in India... Both Designing & Manufacturing are done in Hong Kong...
Micromax is just an Indian Import-Export company which buys these phones from China & sells at cheapest rates in India.. Majority of Indian Population don't know this economic cycle & buy them because of (1) Cheap Price & (2) The Feeling of something owning Indian...
Since its a Chinese design, one can't expect the innovations we have witnessed in Apple, Samsung, HTC & other leading smart phone manufacturers...

The specs look good, but the big question is how MediaTek Quadcore will perform.
I have personally observed Galaxy Ace (800 MHz) perform much worse than HTC Explorer (600 MHz) that too with Sense, which is well a memory / CPU hog. So these MHz / Core count is good from business point of view but is not everything...

And m more then happy to see that whatever gimmick samsung created vid all those cores is being chased by small companies like mmx and carbon at affordable prices..i paid a horrendous amount for s3 and now to my surprise i see everyone in my office usin canvas 2 and it sorta sucks me from within. For what they purchsed for $200 i paid 3 times for for n upgraded version of same i.e s3. And people are blown away by this budgeted phone . I can see so many galaxies doing d round and there is even a grand duos( a gud replica of s3 at even lower prices vid dual core), i had dead screen issues vid s3..and seems like i have to jump to either b.b or nokia again......its pathetic how much profit lg, samsung ,apple is making vid all those marketing gimmicks......
