I have been using Se Arc and than Sony Xperia Acro, the touch isn't as good as HTC OR SAMSUNG. I also miss-key the alphabet that I wanted...once you try SONY, you will be able to feel it ^_^
Anonymous, 18 Feb 2013My next phone is a sony i came off xperia since their updates were so slow and non existent. at least we hazve something for gtn-7000....i hope! just check. still nothin on my uk note1 either ota or over kies.
4.0.4 is way much better. Im using this 4.1.2 right now and there's no prohect butter at all lots of lag
For me this update is rubbish.
Issues in the order of most personal irritation.
I still have black clipping issues.
The Home and Lock screens appear faded and overly bright, especially if I use a dark wallpaper.
They filled it with more removable & non-removable bloatware.
It is not faster and lags more than before.
The ripple effect is annoying and lags.
Finally I personally don't like some of the UI changes; for example having a huge widget section. It was fine as it was and now its just a big waste of space but doesn't matter greatly as its out of the way.
For me the plus points like certain settings options and functions (Smart Stay) don't outweigh the negatives.
The downside of upgrading to JB are:
- loss of USB MASS STORAGE MODE
Google have disabled USBMSM and instead they force the owner to use MTP mode which means if you connect your JB firmware based handset to a car audio head / TV unit that can read USBMSM it will no longer be able to read the device.
In order to get USBMSM working you ha we to "root" the device which will cause problems later on.
- Several apps like the excellent ICS Browser + (which so from the Galaxy Nexus, which is the fastest stock Android browser that allows for full Desktop mode)
- No Lock app which kills the built in lock screen mode.
- Nature UX is not as fast or smooth as TouchWiz 4.0
Don't be fooled by Jelly Bean based fjrmware , its not optimised for the older dual core 1GB devices like the way ICS 4.0.4 was.
I had it on an HTC One XL (LTE dual core version of the One X) and it slowed the device right down to unusable levels.
Personally I am staying with ICS 4.0.4 on the Note N7000.
No need to slow down and cripple it with JB firmware.
