Gsmarena said this is a mid range phone. Is this a mid range phone? Yeah right! What does it lack to put in such a low status? Its better than the n73. Is the n73 a mid range phone. & they said it only has a 3 mp camera. What? Thats a good thing. Gsmarena is bursting my bubble man. I think this is a high end phone & I might choose this over the n96 for my next upgrade. Touchscreen is getting very popular!

This device doesnt qualify to be called a mid range handset. Look at what this phone can do. The only thing the other high end phone can do better than this is take 5mp pics. This thing is a monster (by the way, 3mp camera wit carl zeiss is quite good. Check the n78 review). I love the fact that it comes with a high capacity battery. A lovely solution from nokia. No need to get an n96 or n95.
I think those complaining are just hating because this phone seems perfect. Thanks nokia.

It may looked cool but im going to pass this one out. Cause it feels like this will going to be nokia's "test product" on touch UI. Much like in the case of N95 classic to N95 8GB. Just have to wait for their next Touch UI offering. And i don't want to be a "test product" consumer.

I will one of the first to buy this device.
This device is a mid-range device?
WOW! sure cheap one. Not like some pricey so called $199 iPhone 3G.
Comeon this phone has Wifi, Accelerometer and GPS on board!
Who needs N96 bloated with features and with some overpriced tag.
Somemore the resolution, WOW! 640 x 360? VGA RESOLUTION?
Nokia i give you a pat in the back!

really guys when i read a posting about nokia 5800, i went crazy. I an just waiting for its launch. U never think about a touch screen device in ExpressMusic segment. Its inbuilt 140 mb, gps,a big 3.4 " screen, wi-fi, 3.2 or cam all these features makes it a perfect device in a multimedia.

I totally agree with you Mohammad about standing up against the greed of the Companies coz we make these dudes super rich but they don't cater for our needs as end users but Nokia seems to be the company that have its costomers on their minds when they make a nu phone. Other companies, especially American, are pathetic, eg. Motorola makes nice phones only for China and bring crap here in South Africa.

> In reply to DanT @ 2008-07-30 02:10 from pq5K - click to readHi DanT. If you are in Romania, than I am closer than you may think. Agree with you, that there is a portion of uses need 3G. Or other means of data transfer. I personally have app 400 MB of data transfer on monthly bases. All I am saying is that the majority of users simply does not need it. Since I am using it, I need it. Also, I am travelling a lot. But the majority decides on look. Complaining about features they never use.
So personally I stick with my E90 for a whie. But for those who know how to use a touch screen and feel comfortable with it, also have some data transfer and want to have data between PC and phone sincronised. May occasionally use the net from phone. This is the coice. However, I also find it a bit thick. Not too confortable for my oversized hand with these dimensional rations.

look, honestly I'd give up my iphone over this
not just because its specs, its more beyond that
its just like I chose Linux over Windows for being open source...
And I heard that nokia is going to make Symbian open source
It's time that we, the people who make these companies rich, to stand together against corporate greed...
wont lie to you, I'm a big apple fan, and nothing's wrong with that, at least they make top notch computers and gadgets that are clearly better looking than their competitors, but honestly, they don't give a shit except for your money, they just wish they would suck your blood to death, for having the opportunity of using their beautiful gadgets!
Open source Symbian, IMHO, will really make me turn my expectations for nokia, and I am waiting eagerly to test the new S60 5th Edition, hopefully it might be better than the proprietary MAC OS on the iPhone that i must hack and unlock just to modify and add to its basic features!

> In reply to ifone3 @ 2008-07-30 01:00 from q2b2 - click to read14.5 mm (Tube) vs 12.3 mm (iPhone 3G) is twice as thick for you? To me it seems like they are almost the same. Of course 10 mm would have been a lot cooler, but hey, it's a mid-range phone.
