What's more, almost all their phones are boring rehashes. It's no wonder their sales have nosedived in the last few quarters. Word on the street is that people are just bored of their crappy phones, with their flimsy build quality, buggy software, and boring rehashed designs.
The future does not look good for SE.

THat phone looks ugly beyond belief. Then again SOny Ericsson have never had any design sense, and almost all their models are either lacking taste at best, and hideous and poorly designed at worst.
What on earth were they "thinking"(i assume their designers have reached that stage in the evolutionary cycle yet) when they designed that HIDEOUS keypad?

> In reply to Mato @ 2008-07-30 17:19 from M@TiI wouldn't want Symbion or Windows... Both terrible. Another boring phone though from SE, stupid features and no one will buy it when an N95 8GB, Samsung G810 etc. will all be priced similar especially on plans.

re: every phone should be a smartphone ...erm no - feature phones are just that - they have neat features - yes limited UI but it is the way that the manufacturer works round this to provide slick experience - an example that springs to mind ? The Sony Ericsson WALKMAN Series lol I have smartphones from all the major manufacturers (UIQ,Symbian,WinMob -Blackberry next year I think) - but they are just for fun - i enjoy feature phone more (read: GOOD feature phone no impressed by SE lately)

SE needs to wake up and start making better phones with features that people want not what SE "thinks" people want.
An article in the Wall St. Journal reports that SE declined 97% in profits primarily from the mid to high end phone segment.
That's a no-brainer!
SE makes TOO many feature-ladened high-end phones but what about the average consumer who simply wants a "good" low-end phone for calls, texting and occasional photo shots?? SE has strayed away from the general consumer to the "wealthy" consumer niche and has paid dearly for it!!
No sympathies for SE as they've become too Arrogant!
Their phone models look very similar to one another, too many models with similar features and many models lacking even the most basic features like an autozoom/focus and flash in phones with cameras esp. the higher-end phones!
SE needs to consolidate their models and change their price structure BUT.... SE probably thinks "who cares what consumers think!"
SE had it coming to them!
