I have compared the images of the Sony Xperia Z with the iPhone 5 and the Apple iPhone 5 produces much better images than the Xperia Z (especially videos).

But the photo color of the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 is wrong. You can see it if you compare it with the Canon 5D mark II or Samsung Galaxy S3.

Back to the HTC One. Based on my 27 inch Dell UltraSharp monitor I think that the HTC One produces more realistic images than the iPhone 5.

In the portrait sample, HTC is clear winner. It has a more natural look. Iphone5 sample has blown out highlights and the image looks very unnatural.

Please do not upsize or downsize, just compare the HTC One 4 MP to iPhone5 8 MP or any 2013 13 MP flagship! HTC say there 4 MP takes better pictures than todays 8 MP so that is what needs to be tested, to see if that is true or not, are pictures taken by HTC One 4 MP camera better than todays 8 MP iPhone5... or Xperia Z 13 MP or soon Galaxy S4 13 MP!

I love htc and all my phones always htc and to be honest I'm worried about the htc one camera. To be honest to me after looking at the comparison htc one camera sucks and let me tell you that I own nokia lumia 920 as well and to me the camera on Lumia 920 sucks too. I'm not an expert and I'm not a photographer and im sure me and 90% of the phone users don't know and don't want to know pictures in details. They just want them to see looking good on there phone screens and social media. So for that it has to be vivid and bright that's all. Now I'm I want something professional I would rather buy a dslr camera. So for a regular phone camera I dont think htc made the right decision. Still my next phone is htc one because I love htc and the htc sense. Because I'm addicted to it. But guys in design and build craftsman ship this phone is far more beautiful then any other phone in the market right now Period.

Definitely Iphone 5 wins...but it's not fair to size the HTC one photos up to 8 MP it will scaled and will be sh*t ...I want true test HTC one Untouched and Iphone 5 untouched samples to be real test.

BTW HTC doing nice job in low light photos even it's scaled to 8 mp

Not much of a difference. Cleavage is always good regardless of how much mp your phone has.

HTC and camera department just wont come along.
For comparison between iPhone 5 and Xperia Z go youtube Blunty3000 and you should find the comparison there.

I must be looking at a different set of photographs. To me its quite clear that the htc takes the more natural and better exposed pictures. Its certainly as good as the iphone which is a great achievement as the iphone is generally considered amongst the best cam phone on the market

Take a close look at the orange in the full resolution shot. Unless you're blind they are leagues apart.

Only Samsung and Nokia can compete.

By the way, i know why One is so ugly, the bosses at HTC were talking about how could SGS3 with the not so good looks sell so much, then they decided to make an ugly phone too and hope to sell 40 millions also.
