And btw, I am a Nokia fan also and I know for sure, these new Windows Phone 8 smartphones devices doesn't require many resources like gigs of ram and quad core processors, they can run on even MBs of Ram easily and without any lag.
For the future update, I am damn sure it won't require more than 512 MB of Ram to run smoothly. It is already smooth as Windows proved it in the past and will be.

let's hope that the next update would include native 3G video call support (just like the good old Symbian)

> In reply to phoneaddict @ 2013-03-01 16:17 from uCph - click to readWell, neither am I a blogger, nor Microsoft tipped, nor I work at Microsoft. I am just tech enthusiast who like to read news related to tech and specially mobile world and stay updated. Besides this, I am planning to buy Nokia 620. So before I buy I need to know the past and present and a wild guess about the future of the device and the software before putting my money in. I am no way going to blindly buy mobile, only because it looks cute. :P :D. The information that I written below comes from two sources one WPcentral and google. Its upto you my friend, you can surely ignore my future comments, won't mind.

It's a good information. I am a little bit curious. How do you know about the information? Did somebody at Microsoft tipped you off? Are you working with microsoft? Or are you just an ordinary blogger. If you are just a blogger and guessing, I won't be reading your comments in the future. You know I love the Windows phone OS, I won't be buying any WP anytime soon as I have a tiny LUMIA 900 AT THE MOMENT until there's a 5.5inch or 6 inch model.

Losers.
I bought the HTC 8x just to know what its OS comparing to Android , and I discover that this phone has too many handicaps.
No good apps , no system updating , its complicated , only a big name and nothing else.
Android Is the best.

1) Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and Windows RT are going to be unified with the Windows Blue update, which mostly focuses on UI rather than core components. The core components will be updated in timely basis. Since these updates are focused on UI, I don't think phones with 512 will be left out. Cause that's the beauty of WP8 it runs equally smooth on lower end phones as well.
2) There was no XP.1, XP.2 or 7.1, 7.2. There won't be Windows 8.1, 8.2 or so on and since Windows and Windows Phone will be unified there won't be Windows Phone 8.1, 8.2 either.
3) Windows Phone 8 will be updated in the same way Windows is and has been updating itself. Via KB fixes and Service Packs. While KB fixes will retain their name. Service Packs will be named. Just like the first service pack is named Blue. This will be common for Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and Windows RT. They will be pushed out at the same time via Windows Store which will be also unified under Windows Blue(That's a great thing for developers actually, you won't have to code your app separately for these platforms, just code it once and publish. So not only your app will reach all the WP users, it will reach all Windows Desktop Users all well, and like it or not that's a hell lot big user base.)
4) 60% of WP devices are running on 512 RAM and more are on the way. And they sell more than the phones with 1GB RAM, specially in countries like India. MS cannot afford to ignore them. The such recent case is with Blink App and Asphalt Heat 7 which needed minimum 1GB RAM to run, but MS requested developers to reduce it to 512. While Blink is already updated. Asphalt's update is on the way. That doesn't mean pieces with 512 won't become obsolete, they will but it will take a long time, my guess will be 2-3 years when the prices of 1GB phone will be equal to today's price of 512 phones.

Same useless strategy of microsoft, always says "an upgrade is coming" as the OS is obsolete, but the upgrade NEVER comes or very late. Remember the WP7.8 upgrade... never arrives.................

Upgrade like wp9? That i dont think so! Best shot is wp8.2,wp8.5....and so on. Besides 512mb ram will prove to be very limiting in case of a major upgrade for some of their phones.

As Microsoft should. If they pull another WP 7.5 scenario again, they would seriously hurt their already small fanbase.
